Communication arts CLUB

CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS

Article I – Name
This club shall henceforth be known as Communication Arts Club.
Article II – Purpose
The Communication Arts Club provides students with opportunities to learn outside
the classroom. To promote and develop sound scholarship, members are expected to
demonstrate academic integrity and maintain a good academic standing in all coursework.
The club promotes the enjoyment of life, holistically – while emphasizing the social
camaraderie between members. Members are required to participate in community service
activities, social activities, and fundraising activities in order to be eligible to participate in
extra-curricular activities or non-academic performances yearly.
Article III – Membership
Membership shall be open to any AIFCP High School student, faculty member or
staff member who is interested in Filipino and English. Any individual not directly associated
AIFCP may become a member by invitation. Honorary membership will be conferred upon
any faculty members of the Agro High School Department. The club must have at least one
faculty sponsor. This club shall not discriminate on the basis of age, gender, race, colour,
creed, national origin, or sexual preference.
Article IV – Officers
The elected officers of this club shall consist of a president, vice-president, and a
secretary-treasurer. Their duties are outlined in the bylaws. In addition, the club will have at
least one non-elected faculty sponsor.
Article V – Committees
This club shall be empowered to appoint committees when needed or desired.
Article VI – Meetings
At least one organizational meeting shall be held each week. Additional meetings may
be called by either the club officers or faculty sponsors. All members will be notified in
advance of each meeting. Except when specific exception is made, meetings shall only be
open to members or prospective members and their guests.

Article VII – Financial Records


Financial records will be kept by the secretary-treasurer and stored by a faculty
sponsor. All financial records are subject to audit by AIFCP – HS Principal/HS faculty
members.
Article VIII – Amendments to the constitution
Amendments to the constitution are to be read at two regular meetings of the club or
organization prior to the vote. Adoption requires a 2/3 majority of the membership and
approval by the Administrative Committee.
Article IX – Bylaws
The bylaws of this club are to be established and changed as necessary, while always
remaining consistent with the commitments of Agro High School and the constitution of this
club.
Article IX – Bylaws, sub-Article I – Budget, Funds, Dues, Finances, Etc.
Dues shall be five pesos per meeting and ten pesos for registration, payable prior to
the attendance of any sports club sponsored activity other than a club meeting. Allocation of
the club monies will be done by simple majority vote of those members in attendance while
always remaining consistent with the club constitution and bylaws.
Article IX – Bylaws, sub-Article II – Meetings and Planned Activities
All club members will be notified at least one week in advance of each meeting.
Subject to funding, club activities shall be determined at the meetings by simple majority
vote of those members in attendance. Meetings will be held inside or outside the classroom
unless otherwise announced.
Article IX – Bylaws, sub-Article III – Election Procedures
Election of club officers will take place at the last organizational meeting of the
academic term, and the elected officers will take office immediately. Officers will be
nominated verbally, and voted in by simple majority vote of those members in attendance.
Any non-delinquent club member is eligible to be an officer during the following year. Any
non-delinquent club member is eligible to vote, but a faculty sponsor shall only vote in the
event of a tie.
Article IX – Bylaws, sub-Article IV – Officers
Elected officers will under normal circumstances serve for a full year, and may be re-
elected, but any officer who is impeached, resigns, graduates, or withdrawals from school
may be replaced by holding a mid-year election. Lack of interest in the organization as
evidenced by repeated absences from meetings or failure to perform designated duties shall
constitute grounds for impeachment of any officer. A 2/3 majority vote of the members in
attendance shall be required to impeach.
The officers of this club shall consist of a president, vice-president, and a secretary-
treasurer, and their duties are those customary to these positions. The president will organize
and chair club meetings. The vice-president will assist the president, perform presidential
duties in the absence of the president, and will submit a list of new officers to the Director of
Campus Activities immediately following any election. The secretary-treasurer will keep the
club’s current membership list and financial records, and will publicize meetings and other
club activities.
Article IX – Bylaws, sub-Article V – Membership
Any person who has paid weekly club dues or has honorary membership shall be
called a member of this club. Delinquent members may be barred from sports club activities.
Membership of delinquent members will be automatically terminated for non-payment after
one term, but may be reinstated immediately upon payment of back dues. Honorary
membership will not be terminated except by request of the honorary member.
Article IX – Bylaws, sub-Article VI – Standing Committees
There are no standing committees, but committees can be formed by either
presidential appointment or simple majority vote of members in attendance.
Article IX – Bylaws, sub-Article VII – Amendments
Amendments to the bylaws are to be read at one regular meeting prior to the vote.
