notation (UMS). In this case the EAS Operator Panel is
SYSTEM ON FAULT required for Attended/Unattended selection, on duty selection
and patrol timer functions. An EAS 3 LED Panel is installed in
cabin's and public spaces in order to call the on duty engineer
in case an alarm is coming.

Alarm Panel
The Alarm Panel supports 16 potential free alarm contacts
(digital inputs) and 2 alarm inhibition inputs. Alarm Panels
are interconnected by a redundant Ethernet network. Ring
Ethernet wiring is fully supported by the Mega-Guard AMS.
The Alarm Panel is equipped with an Alarm LED for each
input channel and an Acknowledge and Stop Horn pushbutton.
A text sheet with channel description for each channel is
inserted from the top. Background illumination will shine

descriptions. Background dimming level can be adjusted in
normal operation mode by pressing the Arrow Left and
Arrow Right pushbuttons. The Alarm Panel is equipped with
a 2 line by 16 character display which displays diagnostic
messages during normal operation mode. The display is
also used for programming the Alarm Panel during installation.
The programmed data is stored inside the Panel and can be
saved or loaded via a USB memory stick. A Lamp Test of
the unit can be performed when pressing Ack and Stop Horn
at the same time during normal operation. The Alarm Panel
has standard DIN size 144x144mm for flush panel console
mounting. The rear of the unit is equipped with detachable
terminal strips for field wiring.

Tank gauging and monitoring

The Mega-Guard AMS supports the reading, processing
and alarming of analog input channels. Analog input
channels are connected to a 24 channel Analog Input
I/O Module and virtually all types of analog sensors are
supported (4-20mA, PT100, 0-10V, TC, etc).
The values can be read out and the alarms are shown on
the EAS Operator Panel. The EAS Operator Panel is also
capable of making calculations with the analog input

channels in order to calculate for instance the contents of a
tank and taking into account the odd tank shape together
with the specific gravity of the fluid inside the tank.
Analog input channel configuration (set-up) is supported via

192 digital inputs (12x Alarm Panel).
96 analog inputs (4x 24ch Analog Input I/O Module).
96 serial link inputs.
A maximum of 4x EAS Operator Panels and a maximum of
4x Group Alarm Panels are supported.

Extension Alarm System

The Mega-Guard AMS can be extended with a highly reliable engineer calling system for unmanned machinery space operation (UMS).
The EAS functions are executed on an EAS Operator Panel. On duty indication and engine room alarms are displayed on the EAS
3 LED Panels in accomodation areas. The Extension Alarm System consists of the following components:
EAS Operator Panel
This panel is used for Attended/Unattended selection, on duty selection and
patrol timer (dead man timer) functions. The EAS Operator Panel has
standard DIN size 144x144mm for flush panel console mounting.
Usually the panel is installed in control room console.
EAS 3 LED Panels
These panels are used for On Duty and Engine Room Alarm indication via LED's.
An alarm buzzer is integrated as well in the panel. The EAS 3 LED Panel has
size 80x80mm for mounting in a standard AC plug socket.

these functions on the EAS Operator Panel. The Watch Entrance Unit is
bulkhead mounted near the entrance of the engine room.
Timer Reset Units LAMP

This unit is used in order to reset the patrol timer. TEST
Timer Reset Units are bulkhead mounted on various locations in engine room.
EAS Control Processor
This unit takes care of the communication in between the EAS 3 LED Panels,
Watch Entrance Unit and the Timer Reset Units. The EAS Control Processor
is mounted on DIN rail and is installed inside a console; close to the
EAS Operator Panel.
