Mr. Naveed Akram Cheema completed his tenure as Chairman, FPSC on 28.09.2018. The Members of the
Commission and the Secretariat bade him goodbye by arranging a farewell ceremony. The event marked the
conclusion of an illustrious career and ended with mutual expressions of good will and gratitude.

 155th Meeting of the Commission

The 155 Meeting of the Commission was held on 15 May,
2018 at FPSC HQ, Islamabad. The meeting was presided
over by Mr. Naveed Akram Cheema, Chairman, FPSC. The

Sethi, Mr.Ahmad Farooq, Maj. Gen. Muhammad Azeem
Asif (Retd) HI (M), Mr. Habibullah Khan Khattak,
Ambassador(R) Abdul Malik Abdullah, Mr. Nadeem
Hassan Asif, Mr. Haseeb Athar, Mr. Abid Saeed and
Ambassador(R) Akber Zeb participated in the meeting.
Mr. Amir Tariq Zaman, Secretary and all heads of
Wings/Directorates of FPSC Secretariat also attended the
meeting. The meeting commenced with recitation from the
Holy Quran. Progress on past decisions as taken in the 154th
meeting of the Commission was reviewed. Furthermore,
issues such as low pass percentage in CSS, adoption of Urdu
as medium of expression, matters relating to General
Recruitment, automation of procedures and CSS
motivational talks/seminars in Universities by the Members
of the Commission were discussed. Important decisions
were taken to improve the working efficiency of the
Commission. The committees constituted for the purpose
and the concerned wings were directed to take appropriate
and timely measures for implementation of decisions taken
in the 155th Meeting of the Commission.

Decision for Special candidates implemented
In pursuance of Section 7-A read with Section 10 of the
FPSC Ordinance, 1977, the Commission, with the approval
of the Federal Government, allowed physically-challenged
candidates to compete for CSS Competitive Examination
against all 12 occupational Groups/Services according to
his/her choice in the categories of physically impaired
hearing/speech impaired and visually impaired subject to
submission of certificate of disability issued by competent

authority designated for the purpose by the
Federal/Provincial government. Earlier, special candidates
could apply for only 04(CTG,PAAS,IG & POSTG)
groups/services. The decision was implemented after the
approval of the Federal Cabinet w.e.f CSS-2018.
FPSC website made user friendly
The highest/record numbers of 162,413 applications were
received online against consolidated advertisement No.
05/2018 for General Recruitment with closing date as 20-
06-2018. Over 17,000 applicants also availed the newly
introduced online edit facility to amend their applications.
The online services facilitated processing of applications
and conduct of tests within a period of three months for a
huge number of applications. A New FPSC Web Portal was
launched on 15.06.2018 having improved layout, design
and navigation facilities for convenience of candidates.
Meetings for Online Recruitment System of
FPSC Project (Phase-II)
Two consecutive meetings with M/o Information
Technology & Telecommunication and National
Information Technology Board (NITB) were held on
21.06.2018 & 22.06.2018 respectively at FPSC
Headquarter to finalize and improve the online recruitment
system of the Commission.
Chairman FPSC calls on Honorable Chief Justice,
Supreme Court of Pakistan
Mr. Naveed Akram Cheema, Chairman, FPSC paid a
courtesy call on Honorable Chief Justice of Pakistan,
Mr. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and presented FPSC Annual
Report 2017 on 27.09.2018. He also presented a Cheque of
Rs. 5 Lacs on behalf of his organization as donation to
Supreme Court of Pakistan Diamer Basha and Mohmand
Dam Fund.
Updates on CSS Competitive Examination
(i) Announcement of vacancies for CSS-2017
Establishment Division conveyed number of vacancies to
be filled on the basis of CSS Competitive Examination-
2017, including 10% reserved quota vacancies earmarked
for induction of Armed Forces Officers in civil services. In
terms of Rule 17(i) of CE-2017, as well as Government
Policy envisaged in the Establishment Division vide
O.M.No.1/29/87-TV, the fresh (320) and carried over (160
