RE-ORGANIZING THE BARANGAY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL IN BARANGAY

KINAWAHAN, SAN REMIGIO, CEBU.

WHEREAS, Section 106 of the Local Government Code of 1991 provides that each local
government unit shall have a comprehensive multi-sectoral development councils and approved by it’s
sanggunian;

WHEREAS, in order for this barangay to comply with this mandate, there is a need for their
activation and re-organization of the Barangay Development Council to assist the Sangguniang Barangay
in setting the direction of the economic and social development as well as coordinating development
efforts within the barangay;

NOW THEREFORE, by the power vested in me as the Chief Executive of this Barangay, do
hereby order:

Section 2. Functions. The following are its mandated functions:

1. Mobilize people’s participation in local development function efforts;

2. Prepare Barangay Development Plans based on local requirements;
3. Monitor and evaluate the implementation of national or local programs and projects; and
4. Perform such other functions as may be provided by the law or competent authority.

Section 3. Executive Committee and Functions.

a. The following shall compose the Executive Committee: Chairperson:Punong Barangay

Members: Representative of the Sangguniang Barangay/NGO Representative
b. The Executive Committee shall perform the following functions:
b.1. Ensure that the decisions of the council are faithfully carried out and
implemented;
b.2. Act on matters requiring immediate attention or action by the council;
b.3. Formulate policies, plans and programs based on the general principles laid
down by the council; and
b.4. Act on other matters that they be authorized by the council.

Section 4. Secretariat. The secretatriat of the Barangay Development Council shall be headed by the
Barangay Secretary who shall be assisted by the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator
concerned.
