Prerequisite :
Course Description : The course is designed to equip the students with some theories of translation, principles of translation, process
of translation, types of translation, translation strategy, grammatical and lexical equivalence

General Objectives : : On successfully completing this course, the students are expected :
1. To know the theories of written translation.
2. To be able to translate some short materials from English to Indonesian
3. To be able to translate some short materials from Indonesian to English

Teaching and Learning Modes : Lecturing, Discussion, translation practice and presentation
Evaluation and assessment : Mid test : 30%
Translation project & classroom participation : 30 %
Final test : 40 %

Book format:
a. Paper format: A5, font Cambria/comic sans, 11-16 pt, margin 2 cm
b. COVER: attractive and representing the title of the book. Cover includes: title, editing teams, lecturer’s name
c. BEGINNING PAGES: List of content page
d. LAST PAGES: (1) Bibliography (2) Short biography and photos of team members and lecturer
e. References inserted in every end of the English texts translated along with the translator’s name.
f. Page numbers at the bottom right of every page

NOTES:
a. Each team responsible for book product is supposed to consult the product with the lecturer in the end of every meeting or beyond the class hour.
b. Things to be scored in the class: (1) active participation (2) journals (3) students’ translation (4) book project/product (5) essay
c. The students can negotiate their scores with the lecturer as long as it is reasonable
