Dear Aaron,
Thanks you for your email. Sorry I could not reply earlier. I had a very
busy week.
On Monday morning, I delivered a speech on road safety during the
school assembly. After school I had basketball practice. The practice was from
4 pm – 6 pm. I was tired by the time I got home. The next day, I had a
Mathematics quiz. Even though I had prepared for the quiz I still found it
difficult. My mother was busy so after school I helped my younger sister with
her homework.
On Wednesday, we did a gotong-royong in school. The school looked
very clean and beautiful after the gotong-royong. At night, I went for Bahasa
Malaysia tuition. Even though I was tired after the gotong-royong I still
managed to pay attention in class. On Thursday, my friend and I presented a
project in Geography class. Then after school, I attended the English Language
Society meeting. Then on Friday, I had Science tuition after school. Later at
night, we celebrated my father’s birthday at a restaurant. It was a lot of fun.

I spent a day shopping with mum for Lola’s birthday gift. We bought a

surprise! I can’t wait to see the look on her face when she sees what we
have got her.
I worked out at the gym with Lola. I realised how unfit I was after
June 3 feeling exhausted from using the treadmill for only 10 minutes. I
definitely must work out more often to keep fit!
It is movie night. I watched a horror movie with my siblings. It was
June 4 quite scary. I could hardly close my eyes that night. I had trouble
falling asleep.
I attended an arts and craft workshop with my cousin, Adel. I was very
June 5 excited as it was my first time trying out stained glass painting. Both
Adel and I were extremely satisfied with our masterpieces.
It has been raining cats and dogs since morning. We decided to become
June 6 couch potatoes for today. I have watched two movies and the third one
is on the way.
I attended Lola’s birthday party. The party was a blast! There was so

Question 4

Read the article and answer the questions.

Twenty years ago, kids in school had never even heard of the internet. Now, I'll
bet you can't find a single person in your school who hasn't at least heard of it. In fact,
many of us use it on a regular basis and even have access to it from our homes! The 'net'
in internet really stands for network. A network is two or more computers connected
together so that information can be shared, or sent from one computer to another. The
internet is a vast resource for all types of information. You may enjoy using it to do
research for a school project, downloading your favorite songs or communicating with
friends and family. Information is accessed through web pages that companies,
organizations and individuals create and post.

It's kind of like a giant bulletin board that the whole world uses! But since anyone
can put anything on the internet, you also have to be careful and use your best judgment
and a little common sense. Just because you read something on a piece of paper someone
sticks on a bulletin board doesn't mean its good information, or even correct, for that
matter. So you have to be sure that whoever posted the information knows what they're
talking about, especially if you're doing research! But what if you're just emailing people?
You still have to be very careful. If you've never met the person that you're
communicating with online, you could be on dangerous ground! You should never give out
any personal information to someone you don't know, not even your name!

And just like you can't believe the information on every website out there, You
can't rely on what strangers you 'meet' on the internet tell you either. Just like you
could make up things about yourself to tell someone, someone else could do the same to
you!
