Description

Operators would like to upload the SATCOM SDU Operational Software and Secure ORT
directly on the aircraft, through either the MDDU of a PDL (Portable Data-Loader).

1) Due to software upgrade, customers ask Airbus which SATCOM SDU Part Numbers are
uploadable directly on the Aircraft as described in the referenced AMM Tasks.

2) How to retrieve the Part Numbers of the associated disks: SATCOM SDU Operational
Software and Secure ORT?

Solution

1) For the above listed SATCOM SDU Part Numbers, the uploading of SATCOM
Operational Software and Secure ORT through MDDU or PDL has been certified, and
thus can be performed directly on the Aircraft.

For other SATCOM SDU Part Numbers not here above listed the upgrade/uploading
of SATCOM SDU operational software is not certified on wing and has to be done in
shop
 2) The SATCOM operational software and secure ORT disks are SATCOM SDU
supplier property and responsibility, thus these Disks P/Ns are not currently described
in Airbus IPC.

These software are commonly put in the dedicated stowage box in the cockpit, Airbus
recommends operators contacting directly their SATCOM SDU supplier support for
more information on SATCOM operational software and secure ORT Part Numbers.

Limitations

On HONEYWELL SATCOM SDU here above listed:

This uploading capability shall be limited to the use of the MDDU A200 (P/N: AC68A200)
and shall not be authorized with the MDDU A100 (P/N: AC68A100)
