B. Performance Standards The learners leads recreational events with proficiency and confidence resulting in independent pursuit and in influencing others positivity.
C. Learning Competencies/ The learners will be able to discuss the nature of different recreational PEH12FH – lla-20
Objectives/ activities. Explain how to optimize the energy systems for safe and improve PEH12FH-IIb-c-2

At the end of this lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Discuss the nature of different mountaineering activities ;
2. Explain the importance of the basic equipment needed in
mountaineering activities
3. Identify the hazards in participating outdoor activities ; and
4. Appreciate the beauty of nature and health benefits gained
through outdoor recreational activities.

The students are group into 4. Each group is given illustration board to be
discussed in front of the class. The topics are Mountaineering, Hiking,
Trekking and Backpacking.
D. Analysis Hiking vs Trekking vs Mountaineering: What’s The Difference?
Why you need to know the difference?
E. Application 1. Discuss the proper use of the basic equipment in mountaineering.
2. Give other necessary equipment needed in outdoor activities.
3. Explain the different hazards in mountain climbing.
F. Abstraction (Lateral Integration in other subject)
4. Career Guidance – Have an idea to choose a career in the future, for those who are interested G12 students.
5. Work Immersion – For those students taking up tourism, HRM etc.
6. Geography and Navigation – Ideas on how to use Maps, GPS and other application available on-line
7. MIL and Empowerment of Technologies – Nice location for making promotional videos featuring tourist spots in the place.
