1) Q: Tell me about yourself.

A: I would describe myself as someone who is versatile, determined, and someone who
loves learning, open-minded, and I enjoy working with others, and I try to use all these
qualities in my professional life. For the last three years I’ve been working at the trial
court where I take down stenographic notes and transcribe proceedings, drafting orders
and resolution, and also dealing with litigants.

Recently, SC have launched several projects and we were one of the pilot courts that
pioneered the program that resulted to a success. I am pleased that I have contributed to
that success and was actually commended several times for a job well done.

2) Q: Why did you leave your last job?

A: Although I enjoy working in my current position, I feel I’m now ready for a more
challenging assignment and this position really excites me, so when I saw your job posting
online I thought that this is a great opportunity. I have the skills, and the experience, and
the passion you need, and I do believe I can make a positive impact, and that’s why I am
here today.

A: I do enjoy working at my current job, the culture, and the people make it a great place to
work, but I’m looking for more responsibility with new and fresh challenges.

3) Q: What can you offer that other candidates can’t?

A: I believe that my unique blend of experience and skills differentiates me from most of the
other candidates. I am motivated, disciplined and focused. And I am willing to do
whatever it takes to get the job done.

I take my work very seriously and I am always looking to improve my skills and
qualifications so I can work to the highest standards possible in my role.

4) Q: What are your strengths:

A: I have many positive qualities and attributes to bring this role and my strongest trait is
attention to detail. I always see to it that my work is perfect. I always work effectively
and efficiently to any tasks that is given to me.

I’m quick learner, versatile and a team player. I always looking for ways to improve the
way I perform at work
5) Q: What are your weaknesses?

A: Problem: I get nervous when speaking in front of a large group.

Action: Gain more experience by interacting with different kinds of people with
different background.

Result: I feel more comfortable and confident when speaking to everyone.

A: Having studied the job description for this role, I feel I have the skills, qualities and
attributes to carry out the job to a very high standard. I also feel the role will give me a
new, fresh challenge, something which I have been looking for for sometime now.

8) Q: Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?

A: I see myself becoming a true expert and master at my role as a Legislative Staff Officer. I
plan to really immerse myself in the position, understand areas that can be improved on
and look for opportunities to make the organization efficient as possible.
