One of the most significant dates in the Philippine’s history is Independence Day
because it marks the nation’s independence from the Spanish rule on June 12, 1898.
Filipinos celebrate it annually on June 12. Independence Day is a public holiday. It is a
day off for the general population, and schools and most businesses are closed. The
Declaration of Independence on June 12, 1898 by General Emilio Aguinaldo and Filipino
revolutionary forces from the Spanish colonization. The Philippines’ flag was raised and
its national anthem was played for the first time in 1898.

The generation today which they called “Generation Z (or Gen Z)” which they
defined as people born from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s. Most of Generation Z have
used the Internet since a young age and are comfortable with technology and social
media. Generation Z are often children of Generation X, but they also have parents who
are Millennials. Most of the childrens and teenagers nowadays, are soaked in the internet.
Mostly Filipinos are the top users of using the internet. In social media, there are many
posts, news, or stories that we can see by using these media platforms like Facebook,
Twitter and Instagram that you can use to share easily with someone or in the internet.
Through these social media platforms, it can influence many people that will can see your
posts. On June 12, 2019 we celebrated our 121st Philippine Independence Day. Many
people expressed their love for the country by posting in the social media platforms like
sharing videos about the history of how can the Filipinos attained and fight for the freedom
of the country from the Spaniards. Posting inspirational message about freedom.
Expressing the love for the country by sharing an art in the social media. The Philippine
National Flag represents that we are now an independent country. We are free from the
convictions of any countries. We have our freedom that risked many lives of every heroes
who fought for our freedom. Through these social media platforms, everyone must be
responsible to everything they shared online. Everyone must respect each other .
Everyone should think first before click because nowadays many people are using social
media platforms , and in our every single clicked or posts are can be seen by everyone.
Be mindful when you are using social media because many are spreading fake news.
Please don’t make fun the heroes that fought for our freedom. We must be thankful for
them because we attained our freedom because of their sacrifices, hardships and their
lives.

In conclusion to the 121st Philippine Independence Day celebration, everyone one


of us should not just express our loved for the country through these social media
platforms but we must do good things or deeds for this country. Let’s all become a good
citizen in this country and be proud to be a Filipino.
