Process:

ADDIE//We began with thorough analysis of both the needs and performance of the target audience.
Next, we designed and developed the necessary prototypes demonstrating the aims of the proposed
solution. And lastly, we’ve outlined how the solution will be implemented and return on investment
measured and evaluated.

Reticulum:

The Community of Learners will be engaged using Jean Lave and Etienne Wegner’s Situated-Learning
Theory which posits that learning takes place in a context-based and situational environment with social
interaction and collaboration. As such, developing the participants into a Community of Practice (CoP) is
foundational to the proposed solution.

Instruction:

A CoP shares a concern, a set of problems, or a passion about a topic, and then deepens their knowledge
and expertise in this area by interacting on an ongoing basis (Wegner, McDermott & Snyder, 2002, p.4).

a. Concern//Dietary Advice Best Practices

b. Problem//Daily Nutritional Recommendations need simplification in order to be more readily
adopted.
c. Topic//How can social media be deployed to engage communities on healthy eating and promote
general health and wellness issues?
d. Deep Dive//The Latest Trends and Issues in Nutrition & Techniques for Using Social Media to
Engage Communities on such subject matters.
e. Expertise//Participants will be taken from the periphery of giving dietary advice into a CoP of
Certified Professional Nutritionists.
f. Interaction//The learning environment will consist of a customized eLearning website, which learners
will access to interact with content and one another. The program will be both self-paced and
technology-enabled and scaffold in social media and social learning in a learner-centric experience
slightly gamified as a 30-Day challenge.
