Introduction

Nowadays, drinking coffee(scientific name; Coffea) is very common specially among the

adults. iCoffee is the 3rd consumed beverage worldwide based from a statistics in 2017. In

addition, according to the official statistics of the International Coffee Organization (ICO) in

2018, we consume for about 1.4 billion cups of coffee a day worldwide. Drinking coffee is proved

to help a person relieve his mental and/or physical fatigue. It contains caffeine that helps the

stimulant of the nervous system. iiOne of the most noticeable effect is alertness and you will feel

more awake rather than tired. At a minimum usage, it will let you feel more energetic, but

overtime may cause withdrawal of symptoms. Other symptoms of coffee withdrawal include;

anxiety, drowsiness and irritability but when overdosed will cause confusion, hallucinations, and

vomiting. iiiThe changes o drinking coffee is effective when overnight, chances of getting

drowsiness, headaches and migranes will decrease. In fact, studies shown that drinking coffee

regularly will lower the risk of getting Alzheimer’s, dementia, and suicide by 45%. Butt he issue

here is that there are many brands of coffee being sold in the world market so we took 2 brands of

coffee as the samples for our experiment to test their qualities that will later help the consumers

choose which the better product is. The main purpose of our study is to find the answer to our

problem: Which brand of coffee is more effective in keeping teenagers awake all night? Brand A

or Brand B? We came up with the hypothesis that if we use Brand A then, the longer the teenager

will stay awake in night.


RESULTS:

Brand A is more effective than Brand B on the conducted experiment. The graph above shows that

Brand A is more effective because of the total average which is 5.66 hours while Brand B is 3.33

hours only.

CONCLUSION

We concluded that Brand A is more effective in making a person to stay awake while doing his or

her work compared to the other brand which is Brand B


Problem: Which brand of coffee will it be more effective to teenagers who stay up all night?

Brand A or Brand B?

Hypothesis: The brand of coffee which will be more active to teenagers who stay up all night will

be Brand A.

Materials:

2 kinds of coffee, stopwatch

Methods \ Procedure:

1. Two persons were needed to try two kinds of coffee.

2. The experiment would only last 3 days and the time they would drink the coffee would be

exactly 7pm.

3. Only one cup of coffee was needed for each person

4. They were allowed to do anything until they felt sleepy

Variables:

Independent: Brand of coffee

Dependent: Hours of being awake

Control: Time they started, one cup of coffee, and amount of coffee?
