9 1 1

June 27-28, 2018 (WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY) 7:00 - 8:00 – G9-Ostrich 11:00 - 12:00 – G9-Owl
10:00 – 11:00 – G9-Oriole 2:10 – 3:10 – G9-Skylark
I. OBJECTIVES
The learners demonstrate understanding of:
A. Content Standards  Genetic information is organized in genes on chromosomes.
 Traits of organisms are inherited through different patterns.

B. Performance Standards
Explain incomplete dominance.
C. Learning Competencies/
Objectives
Illustrate crosses of incomplete dominance pattern of inheritance by means of punnet
(Write the LC code)
square.
II. CONTENT MULTIPLE ALLELES
III. LEARNING RESOURCES

IV. PROCEDURES
ELICIT
Learners will solve the practice problems given yesterday as their homework.

1. Gray horses are codominance to white horses. The heterozygous

condition results to an Appaloosa horse indicated by a white horse
with gray spots. Show the offspring from the cross between white
horse and Appaloosa horse.
Key: Gray = G

Phenotype: Appaloosa, White

B. Establishing a purpose for ENGAGE

the lesson
Learners will solve some riddles.
Those who get the correct answer first will receive a simple token (candies/lollipop)

“Something I Seek”

There is something I seek

While it is bound, it chooses kings and peasants
C. Presenting examples /
instances of the new lesson While it is freed, it foretells war or woe
While it is bound, it propels men’s lusts and furies
When it is freed, it tumbles, falls, and fades.
While it is bound, life will often thrive
When it is freed, death will often follow.
What do I seek?

Answer: BLOOD
“Lips That can Kiss”

Its red and part of your body

But it is not lips that can kiss
Instead it’s a type of fluid
Mosquitoes like to suck up this

Answer: BLOOD

“Favorite Drink Riddle”

A man goes out drinking every night and goes home in the wee hours before its
bright. No matter how much he drinks, he never gets drunk. His drink is very well
known but is rarely consumed. Served warm and taken straight from its source like
spring. The man is a sucker for this free drink. So, what is his favorite drink?

Answer: BLOOD, he’s a vampire!

D. Discussing new concepts

and practicing new skills #1 EXPLORE

Learners will stay on their groups and they are to perform an activity.

Multiple Alleles Investigation:

A bloody Mystery

Mr. Cash died and left all his money to his two children. Because of Mr. Cash’s
E. Discussing new concepts prominent role in society, his death made headlines. Shortly after, a young man
and practicing new skills #2 named Charlie, who claims to be Mr. Cash’s long-lost son arrives and demands
his share of the inheritance. Mr. Cash’s two children and their lawyers are
skeptical and refuse this young man the money, so he sues. The judge orders
blood tests for all the family. Mr. Cash’s blood type, as it appears in his hospital
records, is AB. His wife had blood type A. Mr. Cash’s two known children were
both type B. The young man claiming to be a long-lost son had blood type O.

EXPLAIN

F. Developing mastery (leads Based on the blood tests, the learners(lawyers) will prove to the judge(teacher)
to Formative Assessment 3) whether Charlie could be a child of Mr. Cash.

EXTEND

Solve the following: ½ crosswise

1. What is the probability of a woman with type AB blood and a man

with type O blood having a child with type A blood?
2. A man with type A blood and a woman with type B blood have a
child with type O blood. Give the genotypes of the parents and the
child and show the punnet square for the cross.
