Surah-al-Hujurat

َ ‫س ْو ِل ٖه َواتَّقُوا ه‬
‫ّٰللا ۭ اِ َّن‬ ِ ‫ٓاَيُّ َها الَّ ِذيْنَ ٰا َمنُ ْوا ََل تُـقَ ِد ُم ْوا بَيْنَ يَ َدي ِ ه‬
ُ ‫ّٰللا َو َر‬
)1(‫ع ِل ْي ٌم‬
َ ‫س ِم ْي ٌع‬َ ‫ّٰللا‬
َ‫ه‬
Translation
“O you who have believed, do not go in advance of
Allah and His Messenger, and fear from Allah: Allah is All-
Hearing, All-knowing.”

Explanation
In this Ayah of surah-al-hujraat first and most
important fact and demand of believe is explained.The person
who accepts Islam and bow down his head to the Islam and
accepts Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) as Allah’s guider,it is
necessary for him not to show any suggestion over the decision of
Allah and His Messenger.He is not allowed to even think
independently in the matters for which decision is made.It is not
allowed for him to give any idea without thinking about that what
Allah and His Prophet (PBUH) has said and what does it
means.In this Ayah this thing is explained for Muslims not to go
against or think against the decision of Allah and His Prophet
(PBUH).In second part of this Ayah it is explained that Muslims
should be afraid of Allah there is no doubt that Allah is everything
hearing and Allah knows everything even those things which you
think in minds.So if someone tries to go against the decision of
Allah and His messenger then it will be bad for him.
Surah-al-Hujurat
‫ت النَّ ِبي ِ َو ََل‬
ِ ‫ص ْو‬ َ َ‫ص َواتَ ُك ْم فَ ْوق‬ ْ َ ‫اَيُّ َها الَّ ِذيْنَ ٰا َمنُ ْوا ََل ت َ ْرفَعُ ْوا ا‬
‫ط اَ ْع َمالُ ُك ْم‬َ ‫ض اَ ْن ت َ ْحبَــ‬ ٍ ‫ض ُك ْم ِلبَ ْع‬ِ ‫ت َ ْجـ َه ُر ْوا لَ ٗه ِب ْالقَ ْو ِل َك َجــ ْه ِر بَ ْع‬
َ)2(‫َواَ ْنت ُ ْم ََل تَ ْشعُ ُر ْون‬
Translation
“O you who have believed, do not raise your voices
overhead the Prophet's voice, nor speak to him loud as
you speak loud to one another lest all your works be
reduced void, while you do not know.”

Explanation
In this Ayah the respect which in important for those
who used to sit in the gathering with the Prophet (PBUH) and for
those who come to the Prophet (PBUH) for some reason,to do
when they sit or come to the Prophet (PBUH).It’s purpose is to
alert the people that when they talk or meet with Prophet
Muhammad (SAW) then they should be respectful to the Prophet
(PBUH).It is not allowed for anyone to make his voice louder.It is
important for people to do because they should know that they
are not talking with any common person instead they are talking
with the Prophet of Allah.So there should be a large difference
when people talk with common persons or talk with Prophet
(PBUH) .Initially this message was for those persons who were
present at that time but now it is necessary for us to do respect
when someone talks about our Prophet (PBUH).If someone do it
then there are chances that he can lose all the good wills which
he had.
Surah-al-Hujurat
َّ ٰۗ ٰ ُ
َ‫ّٰللا اول ِٕى َك ال ِذيْنَ ْامتَ َحن‬ ُ ‫ص َوات َ ُه ْم ِع ْن َد َر‬
ِ ‫س ْو ِل ه‬ ْ َ ‫ض ْونَ ا‬ ُّ ُ‫اِ َّن الَّ ِذيْنَ يَغ‬
ٌ)3(‫ع ِظيْم‬ َ ‫ّٰللاُ قُلُ ْوبَ ُه ْم ِللت َّ ْق ٰوى ۭ لَ ُه ْم َّم ْغ ِف َرة ٌ َّواَ ْج ٌر‬
‫ه‬
Translation
“Those who lower their voices in the existence of
the Messenger of God, are, in fact, those whose hearts
Allah has disposed to piety. *5 For them is forgiveness
and a great reward"!

Explanation
In this Ayah good news is announced for those
Muslims who fulfill the requirements of respect of Prophet
(PBUH).Those people who keep their voices low when they talk
with the Prophet (PBUH) and always be respectful with Allah’s
Prophet(PBUH), are one of the favorite people of Allah.This fact is
because the respect of Prophet (PBUH) is same as the respect of
Allah because Prophet (SAW) always speak the language of Allah
and Prophet (SAW) does not speak anything by itself.So
basically if someone respects Allah’s Prophet (PBUH) he respects
Allah.So those who do the respect of Prophet (PBUH) are the one
who had successfully passed the tests and trials which Allah had
set to know the piety of hearts.Similarly if someone does not
follow theses respective things it means that piety(tagva) is not
present in his heart.For those who had Tagva in their hearts there
are big prizes and rewards for them by Allah Almighty.
Surah-al-Hujurat
ِ ‫اِ َّن الَّ ِذيْنَ يُنَاد ُْون ََك ِم ْن َّو َر ٰۗا ِء ْال ُحـ ُج ٰر‬
‫) َولَ ْو‬4( َ‫ت اَ ْكث َ ُر ُه ْم ََل يَ ْع ِقلُ ْون‬
‫غفُ ْو ٌر‬ ‫صبَ ُر ْوا َحتهى ت َ ْخ ُر َج اِلَ ْي ِه ْم لَ َكانَ َخي ًْرا لَّ ُه ْم ۭ َو ه‬
َ ُ‫ّٰللا‬ َ ‫اَنَّ ُه ْم‬
)5(‫َّر ِح ْي ٌم‬
Translation
“O Prophet, those who call out to you from outside
the apartments, most of them have no sense. If only
they had had patience until you came out to them, it
would be better for them. *6 Allah is All-Forgiving,
All-Merciful.”

Explanation
In this Ayah the difference of people at the time of Holy
Prophet (PBUH) is explained.Some people who got training of
Islam and got manners were well aware that how busy he
remained in completing the mission which was given to him by
Allah.Due to much busy routine of Holy Prophet (PBUH) they
know that rest is very necessary for him,also he need some time
for his personal affairs and for his important occupations.So
people who were well aware of routine of Prophet (PBUH) they
used to come to Prophet (PBUH) when he was available outside
his house.If sometimes Prophet (PBUH) was not available outside
his house they used to wait for him and they do not disturb them
at his house unless there is some emergency.But sometimes
people from far village areas had no good manners and without
caring about the time they used to visit Prophet (PBUH) house
when they want and they thought that he should be ready to

welcome them.They often use impolite and uncouth words to
make him know that someone has come to meet him.Some of
them started shouting from outside of his house.This was unfair
for Allah to disturb his Prophet (PBUH) so Allah gave this
instruction : whenever they come to see the Holy Prophet and he
is not at his home then it is better for them to wait for him instead
of shouting.Whatever had happened is looked and forgived by
Allah Almighty

ِ ُ ‫ٰٓٓاَيُّ َها الَّ ِذيْنَ ٰا َمنُ ْوا اِ ْن َج ٰۗا َء ُك ْم فَا ِس ٌۢ ٌق ِبنَبَ ٍا فَتَبَيَّنُ ْوا اَ ْن ت‬
‫ص ْيبُ ْوا قَ ْو ٌۢ ًما‬
)6(‫ع ٰلي َما فَعَ ْلت ُ ْم ٰند ِِميْن‬ َ ‫ص ِب ُح ْوا‬ ْ ُ ‫ِب َجــ َهالَ ٍة فَت‬
Translation
“O you who have believed, if a wicked person brings
you some news, inquire into it carefully lest you
should harm others unwittingly and then regret what
you have done. “
Explanation
According to most of analysts this Ayah is
concerned with the event of Walid bin ‘Uqbah bin Abi
Muait’.Background of this event is that when the tribe of the Bani
al-Mustaliq accepted Islam,Prophet (SAW) sent Walid bin Uqbah
to collect Zakat from the tribe.Due to some reasons when Walid
bin Uqbah entered in their area he became scared and returned
without visiting the tribe and complained that they refused to give
Zakat and even they wanted to kill him.After which this verse was
sent.Actually it was a sample for the Muslims that if someone
arrives and give you some message then before making any

response it is your responsibility to first confirm it.If you will not
confirm then there are chances that you can do some mistake.

‫ّٰللا ۭ لَ ْو يُ ِط ْيعُ ُك ْم فِ ْي َكثِي ٍْر ِمنَ ْاَلَ ْم ِر‬ ِ ‫س ْو َل ه‬ ُ ‫َوا ْعلَ ُم ْوا اَ َّن فِ ْي ُك ْم َر‬
‫اَل ْي َمانَ َوزَ يَّن َٗه فِ ْي قُلُ ْو ِب ُك ْم َو َك َّرهَ اِلَ ْي ُك ُم‬ِ ْ ‫َّب اِلَ ْي ُك ُم‬
َ ‫ّٰللا َحب‬َ ‫لَعَنِت ُّ ْم َو ٰل ِك َّن ه‬
ٰۗ ٰ ُ
)7( َ‫الر ِشد ُْون‬ ‫صيَانَ ۭاول ِٕى َك ُه ُم ه‬ ْ ‫س ْوقَ َو ْال ِع‬ ُ ُ‫ْال ُك ْف َر َو ْالف‬
Translation
“Knew it well that the Messenger of Allah is among you. If
he were to obey you in most affairs, you would certainly be
in trouble. *9 But Allah has endeared the Faith to you and
made it seem fair in your hearts and made disbelief,
wrongdoing and disobedience abhorrent to you".

Explanation
When Walid bin Uqba came and told the
whole event that Bni-al-Mustaliq refused to give Zakat then some
of the Muslims were insisted to attack at the tribe but Holy
Prophet(PBUH) was hesitating in making army and in attacking at
the tribe because of the report given by Walid bin Uqba.So at this
point it was a warning to the people that their Prophet (PBUH) is
present among them who can handle and decide better than
anyone else can.It is really unfair that what you people think about
the matter only that way is to handle that matter.If we agreed to
do so then there are chances that sometimes that mistakes can
occur which cause of suffering for you.

)8(‫ع ِل ْي ٌم َح ِك ْي ٌم‬ ‫ّٰللا َونِ ْع َمةً ۭ َو ه‬

َ ُ‫ّٰللا‬ ِ ‫فَض ًًْل ِمنَ ه‬
Surah-al-Hujurat
Translation
“Such are those who are rightly guided through Allah's
grace *10 and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise”

Explanation
In this Ayah it is explained that the whole Muslim
community has not committed mistake that was committed by
some of them who insisted that Prophet (PBUH) should act
according to their counseling and other Muslims that remained on
the right path because Allah by his grace make the path of faith
and disliked unbelief,wrong things for them.In the two parts of this
Ayah first part is for those Muslims who insisted the Holy Prophet
(PBUH) to attack and second part is for those Muslims who does
not insist and believed at Prophet’s (PBUH) decision.So Allah
warned them for their mistake and then told that not insisting
Muslims were at right decision.Allah’s grace is not blindly
distributed he gives it to the basis of wisdom and knowledge.

ْ ‫ص ِل ُح ْوا بَ ْينَ ُه َما ۚ فَا ٌۢ ِْن بَغ‬

‫َت‬ ْ َ ‫ط ٰۗا ِٕىفَ ٰت ِن ِمنَ ْال ُمؤْ ِم ِنيْنَ ا ْقتَتَلُ ْوا فَا‬
َ ‫َواِ ْن‬
ِ ‫علَي ْاَلُ ْخ ٰرى فَقَا ِتلُوا الَّ ِت ْي تَ ْب ِغ ْي َحتهى ت َ ِف ٰۗ ْي َء اِ ٰلى اَ ْم ِر ه‬
ۚ ‫ّٰللا‬ َ ‫اِ ْح ٰدى ُه َما‬
‫ب‬ َ ‫ط ْوا ۭ اِ َّن ه‬
ُّ ‫ّٰللا يُ ِح‬ ُ ‫ص ِل ُح ْوا بَ ْينَ ُه َما ِب ْالعَ ْد ِل َوا َ ْق ِس‬ ْ ‫فَا ِْن فَ ٰۗا َء‬
ْ َ ‫ت فَا‬
)9(‫ْال ُم ْق ِس ِطيْن‬
Translation
“And if two parties of the believers fall to mutual fighting, *12 make peace
between them. *13 Then if either of them transgresses against rite other,
fight the one that has transgressed *14 till it returns to Allah's Command.
Surah-al-Hujurat
*15 Then if it returns, make peace between them with justice, *16 and be
just because Allah loves those who do justice.

Explanation
First of all it is explained that it is not the quality of
Muslim to fight so it is described that if two parties of the Muslims
fall to mutual fighting instead of fight mutually.Fighting is not a
expected thing from believers.But if somehow this happens then it
is responsibility of Muslims to bring peace between
them.According to Islam there is a procedure to bring peace
between them.This order to bring peace between them is for all
the Muslims which are not present in the fighting parties and for
those who can make it possible.Islam has a procedure to do
it.These parties should asked to stay away from fighting tell them
to fear from God.Find out the reason of fighting and try to solve it
in a peaceful way.It is also not fair for Muslims that if someone is
doing wrong they allow them to do it so or support those who are
at wrong side.Muslims should find out that who is wrong and who
is right and should help the person who is at right.They should
fight against the party which is at wrong side.If the party which is
at wrong side admits his mistake then bring peace between
them.And be just because the peoples who are just are love able
for Allah.

‫ّٰللا لَعَلَّ ُك ْم‬

َ ‫ص ِل ُح ْوا بَيْنَ اَخ ََو ْي ُك ْم ۚ َواتَّقُوا ه‬ ْ َ ‫اِنَّ َما ْال ُمؤْ ِمنُ ْونَ اِ ْخ َوة ٌ فَا‬
َ‫ت ُ ْر َح ُم ْون‬
Translation
Surah-al-Hujurat
The believers are brothers of one another; so set the relations
right between your brothers, *18 and fear Allah; it is expected that
you will be shown mercy

Explanation
In this Ayah a universal brotherhood of all the Muslims
of the world is established.The brotherhood which is present in
the Muslims there is no example of such type of brotherhood in
any other religion.There are many Hadith’s of Prophet (PBUH)
that describes the importance of brother hood.Hazrat Jarir bin
Abdullah says:The Prophet(PBUH) took a pledge from me on
three things:I will perform prayers,I will pay Zakat continuously,I
will remain good-wisher for every Muslim.So it can be understood
that how important brotherhood is in Islam.
