You may recall that I booked a New Year holiday to Bali last week for my wife and my self through your
company.
The travel arrangements were fine. You were right to steer us away from Denpasar, the capital city. It is
too far from the beach area.
My complaint is about hotel accommodation- Frankly it was an utter shambles. The hotel at Kuta, which
you had assured us had a wonderful reputation, let us down badly. Not only did they have no record of our
reservation, but they went on to inform us that there were no hotel rooms available. Apparently they had
all been taken by people attending a tax conference. They then had the gall to offer us accommodation at
the neighboorhood of the hotel.
After checking the bedroom, I demanded to see the hotel manager, who coolly produced the hotel’s
brochure- the same as the one you showed us. And pointing to small-print on the back, said: “Sir, it clearly
states here that some of accommodation maybe in the boarding house.”
The room was completely small and dirty. There was no breakfast provided. I am dissatisfied with Hadu

at our weekly staff meetings (Wednesday afternoon at 2:00). As soon as you have decided on a course and

BIRDS
Birds belong to a class of warm blooded vertebrate animal with feather covered bodies. Next to the
mammals, birds are the most important group of land-living vertebrates. All birds have feathers, although some
types, particularly those that cannot fly, the normal structure of the feathers may be much modified and be downy,
woolly, or straw like. The forelimbs of birds are modified into wings. The bony part of the tail, except in the very
earliest fossil birds, is very short, and the visible tail is composed of feathers only. The teeth are absent except in
some fossil forms. As in mammals-the only other group of warm-blooded animal-the circulation is highly perfected so
that there is no mixing of arterial and venous blood, but the arrangement of veins and arteries by which this is
accomplished, is different in the two groups. Birds have keen hearing, although they have no external ears. The
sense of sight also is very keen, but the sense of smell is weak or lacking, except in a few vultures and other birds.
59. From the text we can conclude that both birds and mammals have...
A. Backbones D. Downy feathers
B. Keen sight E. Weak sense of smell
C. Keen hearing

Tsunami
Tsunami occurs when major fault under the ocean floor suddenly slips. The displaced rock pushes water
above it like a giant paddle, producing powerful water waves at the ocean surface. The ocean waves spread out from
the vicinity of the earthquake source and move across the ocean until they reach the coastline, where their height
increases as they reach the continental shelf, the part of the earth crust that slopes, or rises, from the ocean floor up
to the land.
A tsunami washes ashore with often-disastrous effects such as severe flooding, loss of lives due to
drowning, and damage to property.
A tsunami is a very large sea wave that is generated by a disturbance along the ocean floor. This
disturbance can be an earthquake, a landslide, or a volcanic eruption. A tsunami is undetectable far out in the ocean,
but once it reaches shallow water, this fast travelling wave grows very large.
