How to print a nice model?

File data Mechanical factors

The standard 3d file Maintain current and

①、When unpacking the case, please check whether there is the surface damagephenomenon, if there
is any questions, please contact our customer service staff.
②、Choosing the environment which roomtemperature
is relatively stable.Pleaseavoid placing onto the
air-conditioning vent,doorwayand windows.Keeping
room temperature between 25℃ to 38℃.We suggest
that you install the attemperator like air-conditioner,
fan heater if the room temperature is too high or too
low. Pls.placethe machineonto the firm desk.(Not to
place ontothe infirm and shaking desk or it will effect
the machine performancesuch as printing accuracy,
working noise).Pls.hold the button when you move
the machine(As picture 1)

First opening: install machine accessories and printing software
(Pls follow the sequence of steps strictly)
1、Unloading machine front cover(As picture 2 ) ,To cut the fixed band.
2、(As picture 3 )Press the blue locking piece,press
not to loose, then pull out the material feed tube,
then you will see the material feed tube
has a short material.

Please attention: This short material
temporarily do not pull out, when the
nozzle temperature reach to 230℃ material
then you can pull it out.the next step.

3、Install material
Find out hanging rod in the tools bag (As picture 4 ), then install to the specified location at the
back of machine (As picture 5、6 ).

Take out 4 screws firstly

4、Install the material plate
Install the material plate onto the hanging rod, and pay attention to the material walking
direction.(As picture 7,8)
Pull material from feeding hole pass through the feeding tube,(As picture 9,10) and then hold on
temporarily to execute next step.

7、Operation Steps of SD card mode :
Press control knob and choose menu
①、Prepare → Auto Home (X、Y、Z zero clearing)(Picture No.22)
②、Prepare → Preheat ABS(Please choose option “Preheat PLA” when using PLA)
Waiting for the default temperature(ABS:240℃、PLA:180℃)
③、Prepare → Move Axis → Extrude (Extrusion testing,watch up the nozzle operation status)

Insert SD card (Make sure GCODE files for printing inside the card)
④、Card menu → XXX.GCODE(Start to print)
(Caution: Please keep name of Gcode files in english language or Arabic numeral, other
language will show messy code)

Back to Home page,turn around the knob can adjust printing speed and the setting area
is 20%~110%,over 110% will damage the machine.

9、Put on new material :
(please change the material within 20 seconds)
Attention: Everytime change the new
material should be finish within 20 seconds,
because after dial out the old material,
the feed tube may be residual molten
material and rapid cooling to harden, then
will cause stuck when inserting new material.

Wait for the nozzle temperature up to 230℃.


The right hand to open the pressing wheel
wrench, using left hand to tale out the material,
then quickly insert the new material,
( keep material direct line to insert and using
forceps)
Attention : material shall be caught in the
middle of the groove pressing wheel, Material
inserted into the lowest.

* Detection and correction of the print platform:


Close and restart the printing software ”PrintRun”Click
“Connect” to connect to 3d printer, no need to heating.
After the nozzle temperature down, then test again.T
After the printing platform return to zero, the normal
distance b e t w e e n p r i n t i n g p l a t f o r m a n d n o z z l e i s
0.4~0.8mm.

The first step: check the printing platform Feeler(Steel)


whether tilts to right and left . The correction method is.
①.( Auto Home )The X、Y、Z axis return to zero, then the nozzle toward to the X axis and move to the right
end, Check and make sure the printing platform tilt to which side, if the nozzle tilt to the left, the nozzle not be
moved too fast, pay attention to the nozzle doesn't scratch the printing platform, if it will be tscratched, lower
the printing platform a few mm and continue to move to the right end, use a feeler measure the tilting height
of printing platform ( As picture 11).
②.Find out a drive motor which inside the middle of machine bottom left. ( As picture 12 ) There is a black
rotating part below the drive motor. Before turning the rotating part with hand ,you must click
( Disable steppers ) firstly or close printing software in case of unworking in the locking situation. And when
you turn the rotating part ,the left side of printing platform will move up and down while the right side is still.

The second step: check and correct the distance between printing platform and nozzle.
The distance can only be adjusted when the platform is in balance from left to right. Pls refer to 1st
step if it's not. Click “Prepare →Auto Home”, the platform (Z axis) will return to zero, this moment the
correct distance between nozzle and platform should be 0.4~0.8mm ( The best is 0.5mm when
printing with ABS, 0.3mm when printing with PLA).
If it's not within this range, you can fine turn the M8 hexagonal nut located left inside of machine by
M8 hexagonal key. (clockwise turning a circle of 360°of M8 hexagonal nut, and then click “Prepare
→ Auto Home ” , you get nozzle 1.25mm closer to platform; counterclockwise turning M8 hexagonal
nut, click “Prepare →Auto Home”, you get nozzle 1.25mm farther to platform).
For example, If the distance is measured as 2mm (not 0.5mm) after click “Prepare →Auto Home”,
pls lower the platform 10mm first by click “Prepare → Move Axis →Z: 0.000”, next counterclockwise
turn M8 hexagonal nut 360°+72°and click “Prepare →Auto Home”and then meausre the distance, if
it's wider than 0.5mm, lower the platform 10mm again, fine turn the nut, click “ Prepare →Auto
Home”finally and measure to get the correct distance. Follow this way to adjust.
Additionally, If you change ABS material (requires 0.5mm between nozzle and platform) to PLA
(requires 0.3mm), pls clockwise turn M8 hexagonal nut 60°, and click “Prepare →Auto Home” and
then measure the distance should be close to 0.3mm.

basic steps:
①、click“Prepare →Auto Home” to return 3 axis to zero
②、click “Prepare → Disable steppers”(otherwise the nozzle part cannot be moved by hand)
③、push nozzle part around to middle platform and 4 corners,check different area's distance
between nozzle and platform
④、calculate the fine turning circle and degree and decide to turn clockwise or counterclockwise
according to the measured distance
⑤、click “Prepare → Move Axis →Z: 0.000” to lower platform 10mm。
⑥、turn M8 haxagonal nut by M8 haxagonal key
⑦、click “Prepare →Auto Home” to return platform to home
⑧、push nozzle part around to check the distance between nozzle and platform
if still cannot get the desired distance, pls follow steps of ③、④、⑤、⑥、⑦、⑧ to operate。
Click “Prepare →Auto Home” to return 3 axis to home after the adjustment done.

* KISSlicer Instructions for use

The installation method:


Copy the KISSlicer folder and paste it to the root directory of the computer (such as
D:\.. or E:\..),please save it's English path(As picture 13).The reason is that this
software path couldn’t appear Chinese \ Japanese...
no need to install, just right click sent to the desktop shortcut OK.

The recommended value is 0.2、0.25、0.33

11、The relationship between surface tilt angle and supported :

The tilt angle refers to: The included angle between Z axis (vertical) and model's bevel

surface will more smooth, but it will take more time.

Slicing software-KISSlicer The basic operation steps:


Open into the main interface
①.“Open Models”import STL format file model.
②.Fill in the form according the parameter.(such as: Supporting angle, fill density, layer
thickness, speed, temperature….).
③.Click“Slice”, start slicing.
④.Wait for the slice data processing.
⑤.Click“Models + Paths”, observe the support nd the paths direction whether is reasonable.
⑥.If yes, finish programming, and close software.
⑦.If no, adjust the parameter and slice output again.(No need to import STL. file again)
⑧.The Gcode file import to the printing software-PrintRun.

* Distance between printing platform and nozzle effects models' quality.


Shown as below:

(Every time printing model's base,you can check the base of the dots whether
achieve requirement)
There is a little difference between printing platform and nozzle while finishing returning to zero.
So every time before printing you should check the distance between printing platform and nozzle
whether achieve requirement (How to correct distance please refer to page 11 and page 12)
A model base: If the base of dot is too small and sparse, the bonding between the base and the
printing platform is not tight and easily detached from the printing platform. If observe the base of
dot tis like that, you should immediately suspend printing and click on the "pause" , then lower the
printing platform and shovel the model base, finally, please measure the distance between the
platform and the nozzle whether is too large (see page 12), then click "Restart" to reprint (refer to
page 38 ).
B model base: If the base of dot is too big and dense, the bonding between the base and the
printing platform is tight and not easily detached from the printing platform and hard to shovel the
model base. If observe the base of dot is like that, you should immediately suspend printing and
click on the "pause" , then lower the printing platform and shovel the model base, finally, please
measure the distance between the platform and the nozzle whether is too small (see page 12),
then click "Restart" to reprint.
C, D two kinds of base are more appropriate, D is more suitable for printing high model, such
as portrait, high building model.

The printing platform and nozzle more closer, the dot will more larger and denser,and
stick the platform more tighter.
If the printing platform and nozzle more far, the dot will more smaller and sparser , and
stick the platform more looser.

* Shovel down the finished model from the printing platform, matters
needing attention:

When finish printing,the platform will descend to the bottom automatically,and you mustn't shovel
the model unti the platform stop descending. And then shovel out the model in the horizontal
direction. The platform maybe lead to mistake or tilt or other damage which will
effect the printing result when it suffer large pressure.

note:please screw out the four fixing screws of printing platform and
take out the platform after printing,then use shovel to remove the model.

Install software:

Enter the registration code (Incidental CD-ROM-- Repair STL file record software folder)
→ click “Register”→ “OK”

Repairing surface:
Double click STL format file( if can’t open the file, set the STL file to netfabb Studio
software in default)

Shows exclamation mark means the model means ok


has some broken surface

If the model has broken surface, click on the upper right corner of the red “+” to repair surface
→ Automatic repair → Execute → Wait for processed → Apply repair → Yes

Save the model which processing is finished:

Right click to save → Export part → as STL → (choose the location to save) save(s) → Repair
( wait for the red “x” turn to green “√”) → Export( finish saving)

Rotating model:

Open the model, observe the model 's axis direction which is corresponding with lower left
coordinate axis.

3D coordinate axis corresponding with the model's x,y,z axis.

Judge the direction of rotation, the coordinates of the selected shaft rotation, enter the rotation
angle, click on the "Rotate"

Computer system compatibility:Windows XP / 7 / 8

Pls set the “Put the computer to sleep” as “Never” in the computer

1、The installation method:


Copy the "Printruns" folder and paste it into computer.
no need to install, just right click "pronterface.exe" and sent to the desktop shortcut.

2、Setting:
Settings → Options ,enter into window of Edit settings,tick OK after parameter filled, close
Pronterface and re-start,then the setting is valid.

3、Check the connection port :


Right click “Computer”→“Properties”→“Device Manager”, expand “ports(COM & LPT)”, you can
find that the ZBOT 3D printer connection port, For example:“Arduino Mega 2560 (COM5)”
Attention: Different computer, different COM value.

Connect to 3D Printer Connection is successful

Printing software—PrintRun basic operation steps:


Open software enter into main interface
① Click “Connect”, connect the software to printer.
② Click (A) key, the three axis return to zero (X、Y、Z).
③ Click “Reset” →“Yes”.
④ click “Set” (B) to heating nozzle.
⑤ Click “Load file” to lead in G-code file.
⑥ When the temperature reach 230°, click“Extrude”(you can click repeatedly ), and observe the
spray nozzle whether normally Squeeze out filament.
⑦Clean up these filament and click “Print” to start to print.
⑧Please check supported material whether qualified (reference page 26).

4、Pronterface Control the printer pause operation method and reprint :


While finding that the base is not qualified or other reasons, in the printing process,you need to
pause and reprint (no need to close the software, andimport the G code).
① .Click “Pause”.
② .Click “+z” “10”,drop down the printing platform and shovel the model and clean up printing
platform, then click “three axis return to zero”and correct the distance between printing platform
and nozzle. (refer to page 11 and page 12)
③ .Make sure the distance between printing platform and nozzle achieve requirement, three axis
return to zero, At that time the nozzle temperature is (ABS)240℃/(PLA)190℃, no need to
reheating, click "Extrude" to extrude out filament.
④ .Click “Restart” to reprint
