GENERAL INFORMATION

Ajeet Seeds Ltd established in 1986, when the Green Revolution was progressing, Ajeet seeds participated and
shared its role in this.
This company is formed by a son of farmer and industrialist Shri Padmakarrao Mulay, keeping in mind to avail best
quality seeds at reasonable rates to farming community.
With the humble beginning the company started production and marketing of public bred hybrids & varieties.
Simultaneously ‘Research wing established’ under leadership of veteran agri-scientist and experienced professor, Dr.
Thombre.
Introduction of Ajeet-11, the cotton hybrid in 1992 are known for their seed quality tolerance to biotic and abiotic
stresses. “Nothing succeeds like success” Ajeet-11 is followed by Ajeet-33 with distinguishing differences and
attributes. It was followed by research hybrid Jowar, Bajra, Maize, Sunflower etc. The first vegetable, hybrid Bhendi
Ajeet-311 was launched in 2002. It was followed by hybrid Chillies, Brinjal, Tomato, Bottle gourd, Bitter gourd etc.
Ajeet seed is the first private seed company to introduce proprietor variety of wheat Ajeet-102. The progress is
continued and spontaneous. As a result the product profile of the company covers 22 crops and their 55 different
hybrids varieties.
With understanding the pivotal role of Bio-technology in seed industry, a separate department of Bio-technology has
been established in 2003. It is blooming with hopes.
The company established a “State of Art” laboratory supported by team of expert scientist. The company is trying to
develop own / indigenous transgenic technology for the crops which shall accelerate the progress furthermore in the
nearest future.

‘Ajeet Seeds’ a company with ‘21 years of excellence’ and earnestly dedicated to farm prosperity, is already geared
up for genetic research using crop bio-technology for the prosperity of Indian farmers.
Accordingly it has introduced genetically modified three Bt Cotton hybrids in Kharif-2006. A modern Bio-tech
Laboratory is commissioned at Hanumantgaon farm Taluka Gangapur of Aurangabad district. The mission is headed
by a veteran Bio-tech expert with team of well experienced scientists.

PRODUCTION

Production

‘Ajeet’ is having history of 20 years quality seed production experience motivated by

experienced team. The activities are spread over 15 centers in Maharashtra, MP, Gujrath,
Karnataka, AP, and Tamilnadu. Stringent quality parameters and consistent supervision of
experts to ensure, high quality of seeds.

Quality Control

A separate Quality Control wing functions to ensure genetic purity of seeds during seed
production on farms and at Quality Control Laboratory. Crop wise standards as per with
National Standards for different quality parameters are fixed and stringent tests undertaken
before releasing seed lots for marketing. Physical purity, Genetic purity, germination and
genome testing ensures high quality of seeds.

Processing

The processing plant is situated at Chitegaon, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The plant

consists of Grading, Delinting, Cleaning, Seed Treatment, Packing and Storage units. The
company is having facility to store 60,000 Qtls. of seeds in scientific method. Automatic
treatment, wing, packing and label printing machineries are installed for faster & higher
output.
