WHO IS GENERAL ANTONIO LUNA?

General Antonio Luna was a brave Filipin o who fought for Philippine Independence during the Philippine-
American War. He was the greatest General in the history of the Philippines famously regarded because of his
battle and military skills. Although seen as cruel and intense leader, he gained the support of Filipino people
to fight for Independence.

Little did people know that he was a doctor before he was chosen by Emilio Aguinaldo to be the director of
war. Hence, General Luna accepted his important role that marked his name as one of Filipino heroes. With
the greatness in mind, General Luna trained and disciplined Filipino troops to fight even without high
powered guns and bombs. He uplift Filipinos morale when he almost sacrifice his life in a battle between
Americans and this started Filipinos to believe in him. On the other hand, General Luna received negative
comments despite of the efforts he have made for the improvement of the military system but he stood
strong and still continue what he believed the Philippines needed. Aside from being a great general, Antonio
Luna was also family oriented who would turn to her mother, father and brother Luna for support and
inspiration in life. He was a great leader and also a great friend to his trusted men, Paco and Eduardo. His
relationship with these two are filled with respect and trust for each other

Marked as a fiery and cruel general, he was betrayed by his "kapwa Pilipino" who trapped and killed him
brutally following an order from higher authority. The end of General Antonio Luna's life was a tragic part of
history. Nevertheless, his story gave Filipinos an inspiration to lead, to fight for independence and to fight for
what is right
