ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

With deepest gratitude and appreciation, I humbly give thanks to the people who,
with all they can, helped me in making my On-the-Job Experience a possible one

To my parents, for their unending love and support, for providing all my needs
financially and morally, for their patience and understanding during my tiring days that I
can't help them in the household chores and for their never fading advices. I love you so
much guys.

To all the staffs of Sta. Catalina Credit Cooperative, thank you for your warm
welcome, for giving me the chance to be part of your team. To my Training Supervisor
Ma'am Leizl T. Labuga and Training-in-charge Kuya Patrick Dugando, thank you for
sharing your knowledge and expertise with me and to the rest of SCC Staff, thank you
for this one of a kind experience which will be very useful for me in the near future. I am
very grateful of having them as a part of my On-the-Job Experience. For all their
advises and for everything that they taught me during my stay with them and most of all,
for the memories we've shared-the happy moments and for everything that they did that
contributed to my growth as a student. I thank them so much.

To my co-trainee, for the happiness and for being there to support me and to
comfort me whenever I have difficulties during training. Thank you for the friendship and
teamwork and for being my companion whom I can share my laughter.

To my school and it's administration, Irineo L. Santiago National High School of

Metro Dadiangas where I am continuously learning as an Accountancy, Business and
Management(ABM) student. To my adviser and also OJE teacher Ma'am Marjonel B.
Vargas, my warmest thanks for your guidance throughout my OJE period.
My. Sta Catalina Journey
(A Reflection Paper)

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”- Benjamin Franklin

As my OJE teacher told me that I will be assigned in Sta. Catalina Credit

Cooperative at , I was shocked and I haven't complained about it. My teacher
explained to me why she put me in that industry and also it is near our home. I
just immediately accepted it because of excitement of what will happen after.

What I did expect before the start of my OJE is that I will be working like
what an accountant did. I also expect that the employees will never be our friend
and they will just treat us their OJE students. But my expectations are wrong. My
expectations vanished when I get their and witnessed all of them inside the
establishment.

Together with my co-OJE student, we entered the establishment without

any idea of what will be going to happen. It was very overwhelming when the
office-in-charge Mrs. Leizl T. Labuga and other employees warmly welcomed us to
their office. All throughout the OJE period, there were no work that is hard to do.
Everyday, we asked for more assignments to do but they just want us to relax and
be free. Because every time they give task, we finished it immediately without any
other questions. So, they always tell us that we don't need to be hurry in doing
task instead, to relax.

One thing I won't forget in my OJE is the bonding we made during our
breaktime. All of us gathered at the back of the office where there is a long table.
We eat together most of the time with our OIC Ma'am Leizl, Kuya Patrick , Kuya
Chief and the other seniors. We talk, laugh and shared our happy moments on
that time.

Moreover, I learned a lot of things in the industry through my observations.

The first thing I do is that I sort the journal vouchers of previous month and
checked all the errors. While sorting, I noticed that it is very important to
countercheck the papers because it may cause a problem. Every journal vouchers
have the official receipts that are attached to it. Some of the corrections are lack
of pages and also not yet signed by the person in position. I found it very tiring
and boring everytime I check those papers. However, later on I got encourage to
the transactions happening. And i learned that I need to be patient when sorting
the files. Just enjoy of what you are doing and have fun.
Furthermore, I learned a lot while viewing the daily cash count report. The
DCCR is trial balance where all the account titles are there with the corresponding
amount. I got interested because of their account titles they are using. And also I
checked the difference report from previous and current day. Some of the terms
are very new to me but my knowledge in school is very similar.

The same as what I have learned in Accounting class is when recording of

the daily expenses using petty cash voucher and issuing receipts. At first, I have
difficulty on what account titles am I going to write but Kuya Patrick is there so I
asked him. I also learned how to prepare withdrawal and deposit slip. Sometimes
Ate Mia let me do her job.

In addition, I also tried to contact some of the members to inform them to

update there pensions. Also, I was assigned to make a new account number of the
members in the computer. And for our last day of OJE, we are invited to join their
assembly together with the hundreds of members of the cooperative. I'm so
happy on that they because I, personally entertained the members for some
questions.

Last thing I will treasure from this experience is the friendship we build. The
happy moments and joke time with them. Especially to Kuya Chief who always
there when we are sleepy, he tells us to sleep but we always remember the rules.
To all our kuyas there, I'll be missing there kulitan and also the way there
communicate to each other makes me smile. Most of them are Ilonggos and it is
so loud when they talk. I will be missing also kuya Patrick, the bookkeeper of the
industry gave some advices. I am very happy and thankful that we became part of
that industry. Thank you very much and see you around ates and kuyas.

I enjoyed my 81 hours stay in Sta. Catalina Credit Cooperative. It was really

fun and educating. I was able to work in their good office using the skills and
knowledge learned in school. The OJE in that industry helps me develop my skills and
potentials. It gives me more ideas and realizations what is the real work, what is
happening in a real work place is different in your school because you are still learning.
It's was great experience I ever did I was able to learn more knowledge, values and
especially new skills.
