IN THE EVENT OF
AVERAGE
1. GENERAL CONDUCT GUIDELINES AND SURVEYS.
2. HEAVY WEATHER, HULL AND MACHINERY DAMAGES.
3. GENERAL AVERAGE.
4, GROUNDING,
5, COLLISION WITH SHIPS, QUAYS, INSTALLATIONS ETC,
6. FIRE.
THESE GUIDELINES ARE NOT IN ANY WAY MEANT TO RESTRICT
THE SPHERE OF AUTHORITY OF THE CAPTAIN AND OWNERS BUT
ONLY TO SUPPLEMENT OWNERS” OWN INSTRUCTIONS/GUIDELINES,i. IN GEYERAL
- IMPORTANT ON AN AVERAGE OCCURRING =
1. ‘Owners key/contact personnel showld be edvised soonest of
the following:=
2) Nature and extent of the average.

c) The vessel's position.

2, Owners then to keep the leading Underwriters continually -,
nformed and whereafter in conjunction with the Master they
agree upon further action according to the nature of the
average.
3. Verbatim extracts from Deck and Engine Room log Books to
be sent Owners soonest.
SURVEYS.
1, The Leading Underwriters will advise their Average Agent
who will arrange for Surveyor to attend on board.
NOTE. The local Surveyor may be able to assiet vill
advices as to local Repairers etc.
2, Shonla it be impossible to contact Ommers because of
loss of commmication, lack of tine prior to departure
etc., the Leading Underwriters! local Agent can be
contacted direct.
X.B. The Leading Underwriters! List of Representatives/
Average Agents showld be on boaré at all times.
Should there not be any Average Agent in the ‘locality,
Det Norske Veritas, Woya's or representatives of the
vessel's P. & I. Underwriters may be instructed to carzy
out surveys on behalf of the Hull Underwriters as per
"Instructions to Surveyors" which are given in the Clubts
"List of Representatives",|

1. ‘he damage to be noted in the Log Book and verbatin extract
sent Ovners.
2. If the vessel has suffered heavy weather damages, extract
should be sent covering the vhole heavy weather period.
3. In the event of vepaire being carried out at sea,
statements should be prepared covering the following:
e) Crew's overtime in connection with the Average Repairs.
>) Consumption of stores and spare parts,
NOW." Replaced parts to be kept until examined by
Surveyor acting for the leading Underwriter. ‘
If the cooling veter system has been polluted, renenber
the three month respite for the carrying out of cleaning.
5. During repairs at repair yard statements should be
prepared covering expenses and consumption during devietion,
tank-cleaning and the period at port of repairs.
NOTE. Statement exemple is attached,

3. In the event of major damages, co-operate in the obtaining
of competitive repaiz quotations.
