Time Motivation and Introduction:

1. Students will begin the lesson sat facing the teacher at the

front of the room. Teacher will ask the students to recap what
they did in their previous mapping class.

2. Students will be asked to demonstrate their understanding of


the grid system through examples on the T.V. Students will be
1:40- called upon to point out where things are on the map and provide
1:45 the grid coordinates for the items.

3. The teacher will then recap the previous tasks the students
completed in the previous class. The teacher will point out to
students the correct answers and instruct those students that did
not complete the activities to go back and complete the tasks.

4. Students will then be told they will be creating their own


treasure map. The students will be told they will be able to use
any setting they need for their map however the will need to
include a number of things in their map.

1. Students will then be provided with their worksheets for the
task. Students that haven’t completed the original mapping tasks
will be required to finish of the Seesaw activity before being

2. Students will work through their mapping tasks. The teacher
will ensure the students are following the instructions for the
task.

2:05 3. Once students have completed the tasks the students will be
asked to pair up. Once the students have found a partner they
will take turns to find the different things on the maps. Noting in
their maths books the different grid coordinates for each item.

2:20 4. Students will work in their groups to create their maps. The
teacher will follow and monitor the students as they move around
the school.

1. Once the students have completed the task of creating their


maps the class will be brought back to class to review their
maps.

2. The teacher will have the students siting down with their maps
2:35 and be asked to share their maps with the class and point out
where the different grid coordinates the used for their maps.

Assessment: (Were the lesson objectives met? How will these be judged?)

1. To judge the student’s ability to accurately create a map the


students will be assessed on the detail they managed to include
in their maps.

2. Students will also be judged on their abilities to include all the


requirements in their maps.
