What is Genpact Social Impact Fellowship (GSIF)

GSIF is a highly selective one-year fellowship program to give the opportunity to


professionals to work on high-priority specific projects with select NGOs to drive high
social impact.

The GSI Fellows will be –

 Support creation of an ecosystem within NGOs that promotes continuous


improvement
 Working towards measurable and scalable impact and put systems in place at their
respective NGOs leveraging their process excellence skills
 Working on transformational projects which shall set new standards for the non-
profit world
 Driven and highly talented professionals with an innate desire to use their skills
for social good

Position details

 Position: Genpact Social Impact Fellow


 No. of positions: 4
 Location: NCR
 Travel: Some projects may need extensive local and outstation travel

fellowship and possibly beyond

 Great Learning – You will be undergoing intensive Lean Six Sigma training, will
get an overview of the social sector and will go through a deep induction into the
respective NGO. There will be a great exposure to a broad network of social
institutions and people engaged in social development work
 Promoting Innovation – You’ll be implementing process excellence skills in a
very different context, hence contributing greatly to not just your own learning but
also in creating new knowledge as well and promoting innovation in social space

Roles and Responsibilities

 Complete project ownership and driving project outcomes


 Helping NGOs solve their strategic objectives through transformational thinking
 Developing commitment across all involved teams and facilitating buy-in from all
important stakeholders
 Bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to solve the identified opportunity creatively
 Deployment of LSS, Design thinking tools, analytics and cutting-edge technology
as per the needs of the project
 Driving end-to-end thinking, facilitating training sessions for the NGO staff
 Developing a roadmap for future improvements/projects

Glimpses of few ongoing projects currently under GSIF 1.0

 Blue prints on scalability of existing operating model (Example: Improving the


Udayan Shalini fellowship to impact double the number of bright girls in the next
five years)
 Identify and work on key output levers of existing programs to drive larger
outcomes (Example: Creating a playbook for the program managers of Teach for
India to increase the hours of instruction for children)
 Re-engineer existing processes to make them more robust and impactful so as to
deliver exponential efficiencies (Example: Empowering Kaivalya Education
Foundation to transform education in Rajasthan)

Education & Experience

 Graduate/Postgraduate degree in any discipline


 More than 5 years of corporate experience, preferably in the social sector in
process transformation, technology, consulting or project management
 Green Belt/Black Belt Lean Six Sigma certified, will be an added expertise

 Persistence and determination to venture into unexplored domain


 Self-motivated, compassionate, focused individual with high strategizing and
execution keenness
 Should be creative/innovative, challenge status quo at every step of the project
 Ability to coach and motivate

 Should be open to traveling as per needs of the project

Skills

 Excellent project management, prioritization, problem solving and inter-personal


skills
 Should have superior analytical skills
 Ability to engage senior management and have strong influencing skills with
clarity of thought
 Ability to work in diverse teams and with multiple stakeholders
 Exceptional oral and written communication skills, fluency in English and Hindi
