Standard 3.1.1 Understand the main points in longer texts on an increased range of familiar topics.
Complimentary skill: Speaking
2.1.4 Explain own point of view
Learning By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
Objectives i) Read and identify the at least 5 main points from the texts.
ii) Talk at least 5 main points about the article.
Activities Pre-lesson:
i) pupils turn to page 43 and to look at the picture and read the accompanying caption.
Lesson Development:
i) Pupils look at the words and phrases in red in the text and to read the sentence they are found
in.
ii) Work in pairs to decide what each of the words and phrases mean.
iii) Read each of the words to the students and ask them to repeat them after teacher.
Post-lesson:
i) Correct their pronunciation.
