Lesson objective(s): practicing diction using riddles

LESSON QUALITY (achievement of objectives, organization, sequencing, pacing, use of AV aids, etc.)

Students will write the riddles that other students gather after running to read the riddles, memorize
them and then speak the riddles back to their group word for word. It is an almost chaotic organized
game because students know the requirements for the activity however students are still running
around and screaming as they are trying to win the activity by saying the riddles the fastest to their
group. A white board is used to keep the points the students are receiving but there is not a power point
or additional materials such as that used.

TEACHER PRESENTATION (clarity of presentation, knowledge of material, classroom management,

speech clarity, etc.)

The class was sort of in chaos today, there was no presentation to describe what was happening and
students had a lot of questions in regards to the riddles when they got stumped on questions. Greg
walked around with the answers and the riddles which made it more effective and useful on time
management. Greg was loud and energetic as always, I think he demeanor made the first day back after
a long week easier.

STUDENT PARTICIPATION (interest level, interaction with instructor, balance of student/teacher speech,
opportunity to practice learning points, etc.)

Students were tired and sluggish at the beginning of the lessons but got more energy as the energy
progressed. Students needed a little assistance towards the end of the riddles because they did not
know the answers so having the KU students there to help made it a lot easier I think.

MAJOR STRENGTHS

Students opportunity to practice

This gives students the opportunity to practice spelling and sentence structure by memorizing the
rhymes and reading them off to the group

QUESTIONS OR UNCERTAINTIES ABOUT THE LESSON

SUGGESTIONS

A power point may be more useful in this instance because students were confused on initial directions.
