A comprehensive study of geographical, socio-cultural, political, economic and historical development of the Philippines from
ancient times up to the present. The focus is on the socio-cultural aspect of the country, more particularly on the differences on the
effect of the colonization of different group of people who came over to the country. The rise of the sense of Nationalism and
patriotism, among Filipinos and how they fought for the freedom and democracy, throughout the history. In a sense that how it

The course also focuses on the issues – economic, political, religious and social aspect will be given a greater analysis and studies
as well. The regionalization that brought so many changes from rural and suburban places of the country, and also to the highly
urbanized cities therein. The subject enriches the culture and Filipino culture that make us a better, competitive person around the
world.
At the end of the course, the students are expected to:
1. Relate the importance of geography in shaping the course of History.
2. Provides a comprehensive overview of Philippine History and its relation with other countries.
3. Appreciate cultural diversity of the Filipinos as a people enriched by its Asian and Western neighbors.
