I am writing in response to your advertisement for Vietnamese teaching for foreigners,

which I saw in recruitment announcement on Facebook in English Teacher group. I am

currently a senior student in the National College of Education of Ho Chi Minh City and will
complete my degree in May 2019; my major is English pedagogy. I respectfully submit this
letter of application, for I believe my experiences and commitment to dedicate all my best to
the center.

At first glance, my major, English Pedagogy, is irrelevant to the position mentioned in the
recruitment announcement. However, to be honest, English teaching and Vietnamese
teaching have in common. This similarity is to research linguistics and to teach language.
With my skills and methods that I have learnt at my school, I’m fully confident with the
position I apply to.

Probably this is the first time I would have taken responsibility for Vietnamese teacher if
selected. The initial time would be tough for me. However, I’ll get used to it, if I experience
trial in a short time. I will try my best to fulfill myself.

Here are some questions that required in your announcement:

1. Why you would like to teach Vietnamese language?

- Because I want to teach foreigners my mother tongue. And partly being a language
researcher and teacher, I desire to apply my skills as well as knowledge I’ve learnt
from my college to practical purpose. I think Vietnamese teaching and English
teaching are the practical purpose mentioned above.

2. Where would you introduce your foreigner friends to if they were to arrive in HCM
city, Vietnam?

- There are many of the best attractions in Ho Chi Minh City. The architectures in
Saigon are the mix of modern and traditional style. That’s the reason why the first place I’m
going to introduce is Notre Dame Cathedral and Ho Chi Minh Central Post Office.

3. How do you explain this sentence to your foreigner friends: “Trời ơi! Biết rồi! Khổ
lắm! Nói mãi!

- This is an annoyance when someone is always whining something that you have
known already but they repeat many times.

4. What is the best time for you to teach?

- I’m a senior student. The ideal time is in the evening. However, my schedule at
school is either in the morning or in the afternoon, not always the whole day. After the mid
of May, I will complete my degree, full time job is the choice surely.
I welcome an opportunity to become a member in your center. I have enclosed my CV, and
I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you for your consideration.
