The U.S. Mission in Dhaka is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the
position of Fraud Investigator.
THE WORK SCHEDULE FOR THIS POSITION IS: Full-time; 40 Hours/5 days
per week.
SUPERVISORY POSITION: NO

DUTIES:
S/he serves as a Consular Fraud Investigator (FI) in the Fraud Prevention Unit
(FPU). S/he reports directly to the FPU locally employed (LE) Staff Supervisor.
Overall unit Supervisor is the Fraud Prevention Manager (FPM). S/he performs
detailed and complex investigations for both IV and NIV cases as well as ACS
requests for numerous other agencies including DHS, USCIS and other posts. The
work involves extensive overnight travel to remote areas of the country to conduct
on site interviews, verification of documents and file reviews at a variety of civil,
religious, education and other institutions. S/he drafts reports on findings of
investigations and suggests next steps. S/he prescreens ACS/IV/NIV cases and
adds necessary case remarks for the officers on fraud trends.

LANGUAGE: Level IV (speaking/reading) English is required. Ability to write
English at the U.S. high school graduate level is required. Level IV
(speaking/reading) Bangla is required. Applicant is frequently required to serve as
Bangla interpreter for English speaking colleagues. This may be tested.

Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass
medical and security certifications.
Benefits: The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the
HR Office.

with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.

Certification clearance. Applicants must submit a Universal Application for
Employment (DS-174) Application form which is also available on our website at
http://bd.usembassy.gov/ (Click on Embassy, click on ‘Job at the Embassy’, will

available at the South barrier of the U.S. Embassy (near the Nepalese & Vatican
Embassies).

barrier of the U.S. Embassy to be considered. Failure to do so may result in a
determination that the applicant is not qualified.
