MEDIATION ACTIVITIES B1
1.Transmit orally to third parties the general idea, main points, and relevant details of the information related to
daily matters, about topics of general or personal interest, or to current issues, contained in oral and written
texts (e.g. instructions or recommendations, leaflets, pamphlets, correspondence, presentations,
conversations, news); when said texts may have a clear structure, may be articulated at a slow or average
speed, written in a non-specialized language and in a standard, and non-colloquial, variety of the language.
2.Interpret, in day-to-day situations, during brief and simple interactions with friends, family, guests and hosts,
as much in the personal, as in the public, ambiance (e.g. during a journey, in hotels and restaurants, or in
leisure environments); always given that the participants may speak slowly and clearly and may request
confirmation.
3.Interpret during simple, customary and well structured interactions in formal situations (e.g. during a simple
and brief job interview), always prepared beforehand, and request confirmation and clarifications according to
need, when participants speak slowly, articulate clearly, and make frequent pauses so as to facilitate

4.Mediate in daily, and less common, situations (e.g. a visit to the doctor, simple administrative managements,
or a domestic problem), listening and understanding the major features, transmitting essential information,
giving and seeking opinions and suggestions about possible solutions or courses of action.
5.Take brief notes for third parties, collecting with due precision, specific and relevant information from
messages (e.g. telephonic), clearly articulated announcements, or instructions, about everyday topics.
6.To take short notes for third parties, collecting instructions, or making a list of the most important aspects,
during brief and clearly structured presentation, chats or brief conversations; always when the topic is known
and the discourse is formulated in a simple fashion and articulated clearly in a standard variety of the language.
7.Summarize brief fragments of information from diverse sources, write simple paraphrases of brief written
texts which use the words and word order of the original text.
8.Transmit in writing the general idea, main points and relevant details of brief fragments of information relative
to everyday matters and topics of general, personal or current interest, contained in oral and written texts (e.g.
instructions, news, conversations, personal correspondence); always given that the text source may have a
clear structure, may be articulated at a slow or medium speed, or may be written in a non-specialized form of
the language and may be presented in a standard, non-colloquial variety of the language.

1.To know the general concepts which characterise the communities of the corresponding speakers, and the
more significant differences and similarities which exist between the customs, usages, attitudes, social relations
and values which prevail in some or other societies. As a consequence, one is to be capable of acting, without
committing serious mistakes in one’s behaviour; although, on occasions, one can revert to being a stereotype.
2.Identify, applying the necessary strategies, the key information that ought to be transmitted, and likewise, the
basic intentions of the transmitters and of the receptors when such an aspect may be relevant.
3.Interpret, usually correctly, the key elements in explicit behaviour and communication situations which one
