SAME SEX MARRIAGE

Same sex marriage should be authorised in Philippines. People are people whoever they love, and
nobody has the right to decide their fate. If the Government all of a sudden said "Straight people cannot marry"
there would be an outrage… So why aren't we outraged by the decisions in place already.

The Government wants us to respect everybody no matter what gender, race or age, even though they
don't seem to be following the morals that they have put in place. And still we do nothing about it. We let the
people running our country to be deceitful, hypocritical, two-faced and make false educational decisions. We
should be making a stand against the lies. There are so many benefits of getting married from tax & income to
medical & land ownership, and if straight people are openly given these benefits then so should everyone else.
If a spouse is in intensive care a married partner can visit at any given time it doesn't have to be during visiting
hours, this is just one of the many benefits a married couple can receive and if I went through every single one
of them we would all be here for a while, so why are we denying other human beings these copious amounts of
services.

Imagine if I came up to you and said directly to your face. You cannot do sport because I have a back
injury. You cannot eat that cookie because I am on a diet. You cannot drive because I don't have a license. This
is exactly what you are saying when you reject the marriage of a gay couple, you are saying you cannot marry
the person you love because I am not gay.

The reason I have chosen pictures of people holding up signs and people protesting is to prove that
others care about this and so should you. Masses of people suffer to homophobia and letting even an ounce of
light into the gay community will give them one safer haven one more glimpse of a world where homophobic
abuse has been eradicated, and you could be one more person to make a difference. So the choice is yours you
can either hide away scared of difference, or you can stand up and make a difference.
