HD SYSTEM SALES PVT LTD (GLOBAL ACCESS) is a Bangalore-based Distributor and Retailer of
mobile phones. Founded in 2008, led by Bilal Habib, Director, in addition to distribution business, HD
SYSTEM also owns a wide multi-brand retail chain GLOBAL ACCESS selling mobile phones of top brands
such as Samsung, Apple, Vivo, Mi, OPPO, Huawei, ZTE and more. GLOBAL ACCESS has 22 multi-brand
smartphone retail stores with state-of-the-art infra spread across Bangalore that are easily accessible on Google
Maps.

Bilal Habib shares, “Thanks to our dynamic team, we could establish local distributors in all the 30 district
headquarters of Karnataka. After stabilizing and understanding the market, we implemented an aggressive
strategy to emerge as the 3rd most successful distributor in Karnataka. Having a well-educated and
objectively-groomed team is our core strength. Our retail business has helped us understand customer
expectations better, and helped us to design a dynamic strategy to ensure complete customer satisfaction and
also improve our better distribution and retail store network.”

To be successful in the fast-paced market today, a vendor, distributor or any business man, should be in tune
with the latest trends in the market. This is truer in the case of mobile phones market, which changes faster
than other segments.

Bilal Habib comments, “I personally believe that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will become a big trend in
smartphones soon. For example, the Huawei P10 and P20 smartphones have revolutionary AI-powered camera
which filter the image by identifying the picture if it is a human, animal or other thing. Another growing trend
is the 18:9 bezel less display screens and the dual rear camera from Samsung, Vivo and Google which takes
photography to a different level. A successful distributor should be in tune with trends in the market.”

Continual training and retraining of the personnel, in line with the latest tech and market trends, is another
important factor a successful business leader cannot ignore. In this regard, Bilal Habib comments, “All our
Global Access Store managers and staff are called for fresh Product Training and Understanding as soon as a
new trend is being highlighted by our R&D Team. We also conduct regular training sessions to all our staff.
Our key focus now is to rapidly expand our presence in Karnataka and then in South India in the coming
months and years.”
Regarding how HD SYSTEM differentiates itself from its competitors, Bilal Habib reveals, “HD Stands for
Habib Dada, my father, who has been the driving force and inspiration behind our entire business house. Ours
is a joint family business and my father always tells me that human relations are very important, where every
family member should be given importance and care that is due to him. And this attitude should be extended to
the employees and business partners as well by treating them like family members. This is what differentiates

winner in the game. In this regard, Bilal Habib asserts, “Today, service is a very important part of smartphone
industry with smartphones becoming essential part of people’s lives. We provide service through a third party
because we believe that a customer needs to be given individual attention by technical experts, which is
handled better by reputed and proven third parties.”

Online portals have created big wave in the Indian ICT market in general, in mobiles market in particular,
severely affecting the distribution dynamics. In this regard, Bilal Habib expresses, “Online penetration has a
huge impact on our industry. Online marketing is a game of less margins and high volumes which adversely
affects us in supply and pricing. We overcome the online competition by giving the customer an individual
experience which includes courteous treatment, touch-and-feel of the smartphone, comparative analysis, door-
to-door service, etc. We make the customer feel how they can choose the best products by personally visiting
our stores.”

Regarding future plans, Mr. Bilal concludes, “By 2018-end, we aim to operate 100 stores across Karnataka,
and by 2020-end, 250 outlets across south India. Our Future plans are to be one of the India’s most successful
smartphone retail chains.”
