HVAC units re-circulating or recycling indoor air within a room (such

as through the wall window units, fan coil units or mini-split direct
expansion units) shall not be used within the following facilities

A1 unless prior written approval has been obtained from the HVAC

Standards Committee: (1) Communication rooms, e.g., TER; TR or
Computer Rooms (2) Battery / UPS rooms (3) Rooms that house
equipment or devices emitting fumes or gases.

Air-Conditioning Unit: Direct Expansion Split type, Precision Cooling,

for Communication and Data Processing Rooms shall be in SAES-K-101

systems shall be used.

All HVAC systems for Communication Facilities; Data Centers and

Computer Rooms shall be provided with a standby unit with a
capacity as follows:
a) If the system is served by two or more normally operating air

b) If the system is served by one normally operating air handling unit

of SAES-K-002 and SAES-P-103.
