Each quarter Honda Motor Europe updates its pricing and profitability-forecasting system, which breaks down the factory-to-showroom prices and costs for its 14 different models. The system was based on 182 linked spreadsheets, with each of the thirteen countries requiring separate files listing the details of each model, exchange rates and other key variables.

Bayer
Due to the company's substantial global presence, enterprise planning and control present a significant challenge for Bayer. Enterprise reporting, for example, must account for heterogeneous system environments, multiple languages, currencies and even time zones. Bayer, therefore, elected to replace its technically obsolete reporting system with a state-of-the-art information system with a client-server architecture and a graphical user-interface.
