in the Philippines went up in 2018, the Philippine National Police-Women and Children
Protection Center (PNP-WCPC) said in its latest report.Experts say an unresolved problem with
parents and peer pressure are some of the reasons minors are increasingly involved in criminal
activities, Raffy Tima reported for GMA News' "24 Oras". Psychologist Rizason Go Tian-Ng,
meanwhile, pointed to parents' fast-paced work that poses as a difficulty in finding time to spend
with their children. She also cited the negative influence of social media. To help prevent a child
getting involved in crime, Tian-Ng advised parents to drop the "convenient, conditional and
selective parenting."

person's will. The law is a material phenomenon and also includes moral values and a normative
order, acts of will and acts of authority, of freedom and constraint (J.L. Bergel).Knowing the
law, according to Celsius, is not limited to knowing the words, but it requires knowing their

on others or take their worldly goods.

better listener, present your arguments and ideas clearly and be open to others' points of view.

3. Effects for increasing crime rate

In this country, increasing of crime rates are the common biggest issue each year. Current
wisdom suggests that high or increasing crime levels make communities decline. Researchers
usually translate decline to mean an increasing desire to move or higher actual mobility of
residents; weaker attachments of residents to, and satisfaction with, their neighborhood; less
local involvement; and lower house values. According to the National Survey of Children's
Exposure to Violence, in 2011 twenty-two percent of children had witnessed violence in their
homes, schools, and communities in the past year, and one in twelve children saw one family
member assault another in the past year. Children exposed to family violence are also the most
likely to commit serious violent crime and to become “versatile” criminals – those engaged in a
variety of crimes, including, theft, fraud, and drugs. Increasing crime rate will affect people in
their daily lives.

human behavior, including government policies, religious conflicts, gender inequalities,
economic disparities, etc. According to Stellenbosch University "Social awareness is defined as
being aware of the problems that different societies and communities face on a day-to-day basis
and to be conscious of the difficulties and hardships of society".

9. Capability of respondents to protect themselves against crimes

Regardless of the improved crime rate, crime still affects everyone in all types of
neighborhoods; it crosses economic and racial lines, says Larry Jordan, author of The Dirty
Dozen: 12 Nasty Fighting Techniques for Any Self-Defense Situation. A Message from State
Attorney R.J. Larizza: If we can prevent Victims from becoming Victims, these terrible
consequences could be avoided altogether!. Defeating predators absolutely must start with a
knowledge that there are predators and a firm resolve to not be a predator’s next easy target.
The National Rifle Association has a community education program entitled “Refuse To Be A
Victim,” which would be a good place to start if this is where you are. Knowing how to protect
yourself against crimes will help you to avoid being a victim.

Research on public knowledge has found that the public knows little about crime or the criminal
justice system including crime-related statistics such as crime rates, recidivism rates, and
average sentences .MANILA, Philippines – Barely a month into his term as president, Rodrigo
Duterte on July 25, Monday, reminded law enforcers and the public at large that the “fight
against criminality and illegal drugs and corruption will be relentless and sustained.” The
number of reported crimes has been rising, while the ability of the police to solve crimes has
decreased. The PNP however had previously explained that the spike in statistics did not
necessarily represent a worsening peace and order situation. One reason for it could be the
underreporting by local police units in previous years.
