B-6-1 MATHEMATICS IN THE MODERN WORLD

Scenario/ Situation: In opposition to the implementation of CHED's decision on removal of “Filipino” from the
New General Education Curriculum. And append Korean language instead.

Identify the Decision: So the main issue of this topic/scenario is that will it be tolerable to vanish Filipino
subject and append Korean language instead. This decision will make difference to the people involved in this
matter, such as students, teachers, workers, and population as a whole seeing that it affects all of the
population living the country, teachers, students and people who are really affectionate in our nation.

Gathered Information: Based on my observation and research as well, mostly of the Filipino teachers were
really downcast regarding the CHED’s proposal considering 10,000 teachers Nationwide will lost job due of this
matter, in addition many of them spoke frankly that it really saddens them because Filipino is slowly betraying
their own country. Whereas other country, specifically Japan promotes their own language and use it as their
language in all aspects in their country. In addition, mostly of us doesn’t even have an idea how to write
“alibata” nor read, there’s a lot more in our language to dig deeper on like our different dialects, cultures,
where does they come from and etcetera. Base on my judgement I’m wholeheartedly against in promoting
Korean language instead of Filipino language because for me it is so unethical to diminished Filipino as a
subject, because I’m pretty sure that there’s a lot more to be discovered in our language and some historical
facts. It is also our benefits specially when it comes to defending our country and some special matter.

Identify Alternatives: In this case the proposal/ implementation must be hold seeing that it’s not helping our
country particularly in the economic growth and some students doesn’t even know how to write and speak in
our language because they’re exposed in English languages.

Weigh the Evidence: Mostly of the Filipinos are against in CHED’s implementation, in order to weigh evidences,
I’m going to show the pros and cons regarding the implementation of CHED’s proposal.

IMPLEMENTATION ON REMOVAL OF “FILIPINO” FROM THE NEW GENERAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM

 Less hassle and work loads, seeing that  Many teachers will be jobless if ever this

 Widen one’s knowledge in Filipino Literature

Choose among the Alternatives: I am conscious on the both sides on the issue / proposal. And Im against on
the said implementation, the possible risks that I’m going to encounter is that many 21 st learner are so much
interested in the “Korean Language” many will oppose in this opinion.

Take Action: If given the chance, the implementation that I would propose would be “Recognizing the Essence
of our own Language” in this manner, I will be able to promote our Nation’s language and preserved the
essence of what our National heroes were fighting for back then. In addition, this will be able to persuade
others to help and understand what I’m trying to pin point in this matter.

Review this Decision: For an effective decision making I will revisit my decision and proposal again and inspect
the things that went effective and what does not, and if it will not work I will try my best to promote it in
simpler way such as promoting it on social medias and flyers. In this manner, I will be able to know if I was
able to deliver well the proposal, in addition I will be able to know if my decision making is effective.
