TRAINING DESIGN

Title: 3rd Research Colloquium

I. RATIONALE

This research colloquium is one of the activities sponsored by 4 th YEAR PUBLIC

ADMINISTRATION STUDENTS’ SOCIETY, second semester school year 2018-2019. It is
a forum where students are exposed to the most current research in the field of
communicative sciences and disorders. In this course, students read original research papers
before the talk and then have the opportunity to discuss the research with the panel members.

This activity will provide an opportunity to develop skills in the oral presentation of
their research findings and practice outcomes.

In view of this, we strongly believe that this event will nurture the ability of each
student to become more competitive in their respective fields and will foster their knowledge
in having their own research studies.

II. OBJECTIVES

1. To provide opportunities to present research proposals where they are contemplating

an in-depth study.
2. To encourage and inspire students from other disciplines to undertake their own
research
3. To build a pool of students’ research outputs that can published in hard copy and/or
electronic form
4. To present research output in local and international conferences and competitive
events.

IV. METHODOLOGY

The training methods and techniques to be used shall be a combination of discussion-

questions coming from the panels, and other participative and experiential methods to have a
productive event. The panels will be provided thirty (30) minutes to ask questions or for any
clarifications.

V. TARGET PARTICIPANTS

The participants shall be the 25 fourth year public administration students of

Mindanao State University- Buug Campus, Datu Panas, Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay.

VI. DURATION AND VENUE

A one day (1) research colloquium for 4th year graduating students to be held on April
3, 2019 at Sultan Hall and Graduate School Buidling.

VII. FUNDING SOURCE

There’s a 120 pesos contribution coming from the 25 4th year public administration
students who will be going to conduct this activity.

VIII. EXPECTED OUTPUT

At the end of this event, participants should be able to:

1. Present their respective research outputs successfully.

2. Improve their communication skills and be competitive in their respective fields.

3. Enlighten their selves about what is the importance of having a research

colloquium and why have it.
