Supervision over tunnel construction

GI is providing supervision of construction of Zagvozd – Baška Voda connection road and St.Ilija
tunnel. St.Ilija tunnel is a main object of the connection road, with total length of 4.250 m which makes
St.Ilija fourth longest tunnel in Croatia.
Total length of the tunnel and pertaining north and south connection roads is 9,2 km. As part of
Zagvozd – Baška Voda connection road the following will be constructed: St. Ilija tunnel with total
length of 4.250m, more than 4 kilometers of access roads, overpass St. Križ and two underpasses of
the alignment and a grade-separated intersection on the Adriatic tourist road.

St. Ilija tunnel is a main object with total length of 4.250 m. St. Ilija tunnel has biggest limestone
overburden in Europe, and its height exceeds 1.300 m. The tunnel will have two separated tunnel
pipes primary and secondary. The primary pipe will be used for regular traffic with two traffic lanes.
The secondary pipe will be used for rescue and evacuation needs. Tunnel will be constructed with
constant three percent slope decrease from north to south. Due to the overburden height of over
1.300 m, the tunnel represented a special challenge for all who worked on its breakthrough.

Construction of Zagvozd – Baška Voda connection road and St. Ilija tunnel will provide a high quality road connection between Zagreb-Dubrovnik motorway and part
of the adriatic coast so called „Makarska riviera“.

Construction supervision on American school of Zagreb

Investinženjering d.o.o. company has successfully carried out the professional supervision over the AIZS construction phase. The construction was carried out within 13
months and was put into operation on 14.10.2018. A school of 480 students with a surface of 8,700 m2 is located in Središće, Zagreb. The school is designed by four
dilatations (two reinforced concrete and two steel structures). The school consists of three related educational units, kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools.
Within the school there is a sports hall, a theater / cinema hall, a gym, a dance studio and a library. The building has a green roof with solar panels that in A+ energy class.
The outer part consists of football and handball courts, 4 multipurpose playgrounds (basketball / tennis), jogging tracks, children’s playground and picnic area.
Train station construction supervision
New train station Karlovac Center is situated across main bus station in downtown city of Karlovac. It
is a complex platform construction which is supported with columns and it is the only of that type
built in Croatia. Platform is 160 meters in length and 4,5 meters wide.
It consist of side platform, canopy, two approaches by stair case and an elevator. All placed
equipment is according to Croatian Railway standards (ticket office, time table board, benches for
passengers, wire baskets, lightning poles, watches, advertisement boards, telephone boxes, video
surveillance, protected fences, outdoor lighting, electric power station etc.).

The project includes heating of surface for vehicle traffic and pedestrian staircases for access to
platforms during winter season. With construction of train station Karlovac, Center railway transport
quality will be improved and it should attract passengers, mainly students, and those who work in
Zagreb to travel more by train.

Reconstruction of the largest marine in Croatia – ACI Marine Rovinj
GI Group provided engineering supervision and site safety services for ACI Marina reconstruction and
building project in Rovinj. Engineering supervision team consisted of specialists for the following types
of works: underwater, geotechnical, construction, electrical and mechanical. Construction Contract was
defined by the FIDIC Red Book General and Special Conditions.

The reconstructed ACI Marina Rovinj has the capacity of 196 vessels with a maximum length of 35m and
is the first marina within the ACI Club with the classification of 5 anchors. ACI marina Rovinj is also one
of the largest marinas in nautical tourism in Croatia. It is located by the newly opened Grand Hotel Park
which is now the most luxurious hotel in northern Adriatic Sea. Marina has two harbor basins – one is
for transit vessels, and another for vessels on twelve-month wet berth.

ACI Marina Rovinj has 1,400 square meters of commercial space including catering facilities, restaurants,
cafe-lounge bar, grocery store, luxury yacht representative offices, charter agencies, vessels’ service
centers, and etc. There are 100 parking lots available for the clients in the garage and 50 in the marina
itself.

The reconstruction of the Marina started at the beginning of 2017, and permit for use was issued on March 20th, 2019.

We offer operational monitoring service on PPP/PFI projects. As work progresses we monitor the quality of the construction services and
the suitability of the management systems to deliver and ensure compliance with the project requirements. We identify issues of concern
and potential financial and operational risks throughout the project”s operational phase.

Key objective of GI cost engineering is to arrive at accurate cost estimates and schedules and to avoid cost overruns and delays. We
exercise cost control through formal change control procedures and regular cost reporting, which gives up-to-date cost information to our
client and provides a trail of changes against an approved budget.
