Introduction

As a dental clinician we must protect ourselves and our patient. In order to do that we
must always have disposable gloves, head cap , bib, facemask and shoe boot. These
are worn to prevent cross-contamination between patient and dental student. For
protection of both the doctor and patient, infection control is of utmost importance in
preventing the spread of infectious disease. This is of special significance in dentistry
because more microorganisms are found in the oral cavity than in any other part of the
body.

Being a student clinician, we need patient. When we see someone that needed
dental attention. We immediately look at their mouth. Without knowing if they have
disease. Because most of the times we don’t have our facemask ,gloves etc with us.
We our prone for communicable disease being transferred to us. To prevent that from
happening , we think of having a vendo of this disposable things around the clinic. So
we can buy anytime and wear it before looking at someone’s oral cavity.

The researcher’s goal was to have a vendo machine of gloves, bib, facemask and
shoe boot around the clinic. So that we can buy anytime we need it. Without hassle or
long line. Compared to going to dental store. To protect ourselves and our patient by
wearing it every time we need to check at someone’s oral cavity.

A glove is a garment covering the whole hand. Gloves protect and comfort hands
against cold or heat, damage by friction, abrasion or chemicals, and disease; or in turn to
provide a guard for what a bare hand should not touch. Latex, nitrile
rubber or vinyl disposable gloves are often worn by health care professionals as hygiene and
contamination protection measures

A head cup is a protective covering for our head, to maintain the neatness in our works
in clinics.
 A surgical mask, also known as a procedure mask, face mask is intended to be worn
by health professionals during surgery and during nursing to catch the bacteria shed in liquid
droplets and aerosols from the wearer's mouth and nose.

A shoe boot is a protective covering on our shoes uses in clinic, for the patients and in
the clinic as well especially in dental chairs.

A vending machine is an automated machine that provides items such

as snacks, beverages, cigarettes and lottery tickets to consumers after money, a credit card, or
specially designed card is inserted into the machine but in our proposed product it will provides
dental bib, head cup, shoe boot, gloves and face mask which we believe that it is all essentials
and also a main needs in dentistry to have a protection.

As a dentistry students, we need different things that we should use in the clinic, we are
forgetful in preparing such things because things are from the locker and because we are all
busy, tired, stress and maybe it’s the reason why we forget, sometimes because we have no
stock anymore then we think that we will buy then suddenly we forgot.

Bib, head cup, face mask, gloves and shoe boot are all disposable; we need to change
it in every tray set up and every patient, because safety is important, all of this should be clean
and unused.

The researcher’s goal was to promote to our co-clinicians, co-dentistry students our
proposed product which is a vending machine which contains bib, head cup, face mask, gloves
and shoe boots in every floor of the clinics, in case we forget we, can buy easily in order for us
to not be tired that we need to buy at the store which is too far and because of the stairs, we
have no elevator that we can use and for us time is the essence, it is not time consuming.
Conceptual Framework

The goal of this action research is to help the dentistry clinicians by making their life
easier when they forget those things, to buy conveniently.

1. For protection of dental clinicians.

2. Less hassle when forget those things.
3. To buy those things conveniently.

Scope, Delimitations and Limitations

The action research will be conduct to evaluate the needs of dentistry clinicians for the
Vending Machine which contains dental bib, face mask, gloves and shoe boot. The subjects of
the action research are the dentistry clinicians of Centro Escolar University, Mendiola Manila.
