Port production
Docking terminals and wharves:
- The Port's docking terminals are operated by autonomous companies that are
mostly either fully owned by, or are joint ventures with,TPC or TPD.
Scheduling and Dispatching:
- The Tianjin Port Group's Operations Department is in charge of
coordinating the productive operation of the Port, and must be informed of all
ship movements and major operations. The production schedule (ship
movement plan) is arranged by the TPG Dispatch Control Center, in
coordination with the wharf operators, the MSA, and the pilot center.).
Harbor Craft:
- The main provider of harbor craft is the Tianjin Port Tug & Lighter Company.
The company operates 26 harbor tugs (between 2,600 HP and 6,000 HP of
power), 5 pilot ships, 7 other ancillary crafts, 2 floating cranes (120 t and 200 t
capacity); and around three dozen lighters, the largest around 1,340 t
displacement.
Port maintenance
Facilities management:
- TPG operates as the port landlord, and provides most utilities, municipal
services and ancillary services to the various port operators. The services it
provides are very wide in scope, spanning everything from electrical power, to
construction materials, to printing services.
Channel maintenance:
- The Tianjin Dredging Company is the organic waterway management
company of the Tianjin Port Group. As of January 2010, the TDC deployed 100
boats, and had the largest dredging capacity of China, with a capacity of 300
million cubic meters and more than 500,000 kW of vessel power.
Icebreaking:
- Routine icebreaking is usually handled by the Tug & Lighter Company. In case
of ice emergencies, the MSA coordinates icebreaking patrols, using heavy
harbor tugs and dredges.
Services
Cleaning and Sanitation Services:
- Bilge, slops and ballast water disposal is a major pollution hazard for the Bohai
Bay, and it is tightly regulated by the MSA. Only specially authorized
enterprises can engage in their removal and disposal, or in tank cleanup.
- Tianjin Port Harbor Service Company is the Group's organic "housekeeping"
service, providing cabin, hold and bedding clean-up, and garbage disposal for
ships at berth.
Seafarers:
-
As the port of a major city, facilities available to crews on shore leave are
extensive, if somewhat difficult to reach. The International Seamen's Club is
located at Xingang Liumi Road, opposite the Bomesc shipyard.

Port of Manila
The Port of Manila is the busiest seaport in the Philippines. The Port of Manila is the
country's primary international gateway for shipping. Having moved over 2.8 million
TEUs in 2009, the Port of Manila was the thirty-seventh busiest container port in the
world, as reported by the American Association of Port Authorities.
The Port of Manila is located on the southeastern shores of Manila Bay. The Port of
Manila Bay entrance is 19 kilometers (12 miles) wide, and the Bay expands to 48
kilometers (30 miles) in width. Manila Bay and the Port of Manila are surrounded by
volcanic peaks and tropical foliage. The Port of Manila is about 40 kilometers (25
miles) south of Bataan Peninsula, location of the historic World War II Bataan Death
March.
The Port of Manila North Harbor covers about 52.5 hectares of land and
contains about 5.2 thousand meters (17 thousand feet) of quays with ten
berths and eight quays that can accommodate a wide range of inter-island
vessels. The quays contain 54 berthing areas, and there are areas for rolling
cargoes at all piers.
Manila International Container Terminal is one of Asia's major seaports and one of the
Philippines' most active ports. It is located between the Manila North Harbor and the
Manila South Harbor and can be accessed by road through MICT South Access Road.
The Port of Manila South Harbor is operated by Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI), a
publicly-listed port investor, operator, and developer in the Philippines. ATI
operates the Port of Manila South Harbor's container and domestic terminals
and provides general stevedoring services.
