What is the Barclays Graduate Fund?

At Barclays we’re dedicated to helping graduates move forward in life and get onto the career
ladder. Last year we helped them with free accommodation to ease the burden of interviews
away from home. This year we wanted to do more. We’ve decided to launch the Barclays
Graduate Fund.

If you graduated this year (2018) you can apply for up to £550 from the fund for one of the
categories below:

 Interview clothes

o We’ll need proof of interview eg a confirmation email or letter from your

potential employer and links to the clothes you’d like to buy. Successful
applicants will receive a voucher for the shop to the value of the outfit.

 Travel to an interview eg train or plane

o We’ll need proof of interview eg a confirmation email or letter from your

potential employer

 Accommodation during and after an interview eg hotel or Airbnb

o We’ll need proof of interview eg a confirmation email from your potential

employer and proof of your requirement for overnight accommodation eg
train tickets showing travel to/from the interview.

 Training and development eg courses and books

o You’ll need to provide details of the training and development you want to
do eg courses, online training, books etc

 Tools and equipment eg for crafts, arts, software packages, developer tools

o You’ll need to show that the materials are relevant to your degree

Barclays Graduate Fund Rules

This document sets out the rules for Barclays Graduate Fund. Make sure you read
them carefully and understand them all before you make an application.

OVERVIEW
Barclays is offering students who graduated from the 2017/2018 academic year access to a grant of up
to £550 for the Barclays Graduate Fund. By entering, you agree to be bound by these terms and
conditions.

RULES
1. “Barclays”, “The Promotor”, “we”, “us” and “ours” means Barclays Bank PLC, 1 Churchill Place,
Canary Wharf, London, E14 5HP.

WHO MAY APPLY

2. All UK residents who graduated from a University or a Higher Education institution after
01/09/2017 are eligible to apply for funding.
3. You are only able to apply for funding once during the promotional period.
4. You must have graduated from a University or Higher Education institution in the past academic
year (2017/18) to be eligible to apply for the fund.
5. All entrants must be 21 years old or over.
6. You are not eligible to apply to Barclays Graduate Fund if you are materially connected to the
administration of the Barclays or an employee of the following entities:
6.1. Barclays Bank UK PLC;
6.2. Barclays Bank PLC;
6.3. Barclays Services Limited; or
6.4. Any other associated entity

HOW TO APPLY
7. You can apply for support from the Graduate Fund from 08 October 2018 until 21 October 2018.
Entries made after this time will not be valid, even if they appear to be registered.
8. Entry is free. To enter, you must download the form (available at: www.barclays.co.uk/current-
accounts/higher-education-account/), complete the three questions and send back to
BarclaysGraduateFund@hopeandglorypr.com
9. Lost, delayed, undelivered, incomplete or multiple entries will not be applicable.

The Prize

10. Successful applicants to the Graduate Fund will be awarded with funds to cover the cost of the
items requested in the application form, up to a maximum value of £550.
10.1. Interview Clothing: applicants will need to provide links to the specific items of clothing they
wish to purchase. Evidence of an interview such as an invitation from a company must also be
provided.
10.2. Travel to and from an interview: applicants will need to share details of the specific flights
(including operator, date and time) or train they are looking to book. Evidence of an interview
such as an invitation from a company must also be provided.
10.3. Accommodation during an interview: one-night hotel or apartment stay in the city of interview.
Evidence of an interview such as an invitation from a company must be provided.

 10.4. Training and Development: a training course and/or materials to support further development
in the applicant’s chosen field (evidence of chosen training course and/or support materials
must be provided).
11. No alternative awards will be offered. The prize and participation in the Competition cannot be
exchanged or transferred, and may be subject to additional terms and conditions. However, in the
event that the prizes offered are unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control, we reserve
the right to offer alternate prizes or equal or greater value.

Selecting the Winners

12. Prizes will be awarded on a first come, first served basis to applicants who

13. In the event of an ineligible entry the Promoter has the right to refuse applications

PERSONAL INFORMATION
14. The Promoter will only collect, store and use your personal information, such as your name,
address, email address, and copies of any ID, for the purposes of assessing your booking application
and administering any tickets awarded to you as set out in these rules, and not for any other
purpose unless otherwise required by law. This will not affect any existing marketing preferences
that you have registered with Barclays.
15. By applying to Barclays Graduate Fund, your personal information (email address and phone
number) may be transferred to our service providers and agents (including their sub-contractors) to
store and use as necessary to administer the Offer. We will never pass your information to any third
party for them to use in their own direct marketing, without your consent.
16. Your personal information will be held on record for a short period of time as necessary to
administer the ticket and facilitate your booking and then securely destroyed, unless otherwise
required by law.

LIABILITY
17. To the extent permitted by law, Barclays will not be liable for any loss, damage, injury or
disappointment suffered in connection with the accommodation, items provided by the fund or any
delays or failure (in whole or in part) to perform any of its obligations if such delay or failure is
caused by something beyond its reasonable control.
GENERAL
18. Owing to exceptional circumstances outside its reasonable control, the Promoter may choose to
withdraw or amend the Offer at any time.
19. These rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales
and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising in
respect of this Offer.
20. By applying to Barclays Graduate Fund, you warrant that all information submitted as part of the
entry is true, current and complete. The Promoter reserves the right to verify all entries.
