1. Motivation
The teacher will show pictures of modern superheroes.
 Identify them one by one.
 Who is your favorite superhero among them?
 What are his/her characteristics that made him/her your favorite?
2. Presentation
 The teacher will tell the class that hundred years ago, when there were no comic books,
televisions, and movies yet, heroes in epics were idolized by many like modern
superheroes.
 The teacher will introduce the topic by giving details about the epic Hudhud and
(showing pictures of) the Ifugao people.
 Unlocking of Difficulties
Students will draw a paper inside a box containing unfamiliar words from the story.
He/she has to locate the sentence in the story that contains the word and define the
word based from how it was used in the story.
3. Discussion
 Live Picture Frame
The class will be divided into four groups. Each group will be assigned to one corner of
the classroom where they will show one event in the story of tableau. They will be given
five minutes to talk about what they will do. A narrator for each group will explain the event
assigned to them. While one group is presenting, all the other groups will just watch and
listen. (a rubric will be used to grade the presentation)

 Recognizing Verbs
The teacher will show the sentence “I destroyed your enemy by making him a friend.”
 Which of the words in the sentence shows the action of the subject?
 What do we call this word?
 What is a verb?
 What are the different kinds of verbs?
 Pick out verbs from the sentences in the story and determine the kind of verb.

5. Valuing
 Based on the epic that you read, what then is the best way to destroy an enemy?
 How will you solve a conflict and promote peace around you?
