Asian Games Mascots

For the 2018 Asian Games mascot, Feat Studio also designed it. These three mascots (Bhin Bhin,
Atung and Kaka) are likened to portraying Indonesianness with the inspiration of Unity in
Diversity. The names of the three are taken from the word Bhineka Tunggal Ika which is very
attached to Indonesian jargon. Bhin Bhin (from Bhineka), Atung (from Tunggal), and Kaka (from
Ika). This mascot also reflects ethnic and cultural diversity. Bhin-Bhin (a bird of paradise from
eastern Indonesia), Atung (a Bawean deer from central Indonesia), and Kaka (Badak Bercula
Satu from western part of Indonesia).
Besides that the mascot meanings of the 2018 Asian Games depict birds of paradise with their
intelligence able to deal with how to deal with opponents, deer with the speed they have to
trick the eyes of the enemy, and the rhinoceros that is a symbol of a power.

Keeping this in mind, the organizers of the 2018 Asian Games have produced three unique
mascots, who represent the Indonesian heritage. The mascots also represent the different
Indonesian region. They are as follows-

Next up is Atung. The Bawean Deer, as the name suggests, is from the Bawean region of
Indonesia. Atung wears a batik parang sarong from Central Indonesian Region, which symbolizes

The third and final mascot of the 2018 Asian Games is the Javan Rhinoceros, Kaka. Originally
named Ika, the rhinoceros wears a flower motif from Palembang's Songket Scraf. The Javan
Rhinoceros is an endangered species, and the organizers are hoping for spreading the message
through the mascot. His hometown is Ujung Kulon and he represents power.
