A. INTRODUCTION
The Department of Health (DOH) today urges all mothers to practice exclusive
breastfeeding up to six months to reduce child mortality and improve child survival as
part of the High-Five critical public health interventions of providing accessible,
affordable, and quality health care to all, especially the poor.
One of the targets of this seminar is to gauge the clinical and procedural know-
how of healthcare providers in administering and guiding mothers and new mothers in
the importance and relevance of breastfeeding in the health of new born infants. It
aims to impart more information and increase awareness in the trend and impact of
breastfeeding nowadays.
