La literatura, para Lewis, nos permite «ver con otros ojos, imagi-
nar con otras imaginaciones, sentir con otros corazones, además de los
nuestros» 15. Le corresponde a la imaginación creativa de cada individuo
la misión de entretejer las múltiples perspectivas y visiones parciales.
En esta línea, sugiere Lewis, es posible «sanar la herida, sin menoscabar
el privilegio de la individualidad». El campo imaginativo del pensador
individual se ve enriquecido por las perspectivas y las ideas de los demás;
sin embargo, la identidad y la individualidad distintivas del pensador se
afirman y respetan.
Nietzsche desarrolló una perspectiva similar en La voluntad de poder,
donde argumenta que el ojo humano no es capaz de asimilar el com-
plejo paisaje al que se enfrenta y tiende a fijarse en los aspectos que se
