TRACKMOBILE BALLAST BOX DELIVERS MORE TRACTION WHEN YOU NEED IT

Since the earliest days of engineering, the concept of ballast weight

has proven itself invaluable. It has been used in everything from
bridge construction to farm equipment. Using this great concept,
Trackmobile has developed a patented way to leverage existing
unwanted or unused industrial materials to produce an increase* of
30 – 90% greater tractive effort!

UNMATCHED VISIBILITY
The Ballast Box accessory provides a similar tractive effort to double
coupling, while maintaining an unobstructed view for the operator
during operation.

*Based on 30% more than single coupled with weight transfer and 90% of
single coupled where weight transfer is not possible.

DURABILITY
As with all Trackmobile products, the durability of our
Ballast Box is no exception! Built to last, it’s constructed
with half inch thick steel wall tubing, measures 90”
wide by 60” high by 54” deep, and weighs 4,500 lbs.

Equipped with an AAR profile coupler that can be extended or retracted, the Ballast Box can fit most Trackmobile railcar movers.
