Abstract
In the terms of its facilities and infrastructures condition,
Terminal Joyoboyo is not good enough, especially for the
management office. This condition definitely requires a
refinement. By looking at the condition of the building that
currently stands with a conventional system for its columns and
floor plate, the author tries to redesign the building by using flat
slab-shear wall for high seismic zone.
Joyoboyo Terminal is an U-shaped building, so it uses a
dilatation as a separation for the parts of the building. Therefore,
the design of the structure and the analysis of the seismic load
effects are divided into three parts, which are 1st Building, 2nd
Building, and 3rd Building.
The analysis of the seismic load effects uses a design that
applied to the planning of the frame structure of the building, with
the use of dynamic seismic. Dynamic seismic is chosen because
Joyoboyo Terminal is a 10 floor building, in accordance to SNI
03-1726-2002.
For the flat slab design, the reinforcement divided into two
strips, which are column strips (column lane) and middle strip
(middle lane) with x and y directions for each parts. For the
column design, the reinforcements are obtained from PCACOL
software, and the strength of the columns should be checked. The
design of the shear wall is planned using vertical and horizontal

v
reinforcement, in which both reinforcements are designed as
shear. Because basically, shear wall is a wall which restrain
horizontal forces, like seismic.
With 30 MPa concrete design and 200 mm plate thickness,
the result of the reinforcement dimension is D 14 – 250 for each
floor, each direction, and each building, with 25 cm drop panel.
For the structural wall, the thickness is 300 mm,the dimension of
the reinforcement is D22-100 for the vertical shear reinforcement
and D16 – 50 for the horizontal shear reinforcement, with
different boundary element in every building. The dimension of
the column is 70 x 70 cm2 with 20 D22 reinforcement. Sloof is not
planned for the primary lower structure, because in the design
there’s only one pile cap for all the bore piles. That is because if
the design places a pile cap under every columns and shear walls,
the pile caps would be collide into each other.
