The establishment of the Catholic Rajawali Junior High School could not be separated from the

Joseph Foundation's service program in the field of education. At that time, the Joseph Foundation
had opened two elementary schools; Saint Joseph Elementary School and Hati Kudus Elementary
School and because the support of all educational stakeholders and the people of Makassar to
presenta higher level Educational Institution.

On August 1st , 1947, Sr. Maria Ederveen officially opened Catholic Rajawali Junior High Schoo. At the
beginning of the appearance of Catholic Rajawali Junior High School, there were only 39 female
students were accepted.

The presence of Catholic Rajawali Junior High School from year to year has experienced rapid
development with the increasing number of students who are interested in continuing their
education at Rajawali Catholic Middle School. Finally in 1991 Rajawali Catholic Middle School began
accepting male students until now

At present there are 27 classrooms in Rajawali Junior High School with a total of 847 students.
Rajawali SMPK is one of the favorite junior high schools in the city of Makassar. The quality of
education of the Rajawali Junior High School is strengthened by the establishment of school
accreditation status by the South Sulawesi Province National Accreditation Agency on October 24,
2014 with a rating (Very good).
