Problems Encountered

The problems that each one of us encountered is not only by the task that is
being given, but also the personality of each one of us. First, the attitude of the trainees,
during the immersion as I observed my classmates, I notice that they are easily
influenced to do things that I needed to do or not. Also, some of us thinks positively
while others are not. Being a positive person can motivate others to keep the work
moving and progressing. But, when a person thinks negatively it also affects them to
think negative and the opposite of the one with a positive mindset. Second, the behavior
of the trainees, it means the way in which one acts or conducts oneself, especially
toward others. Third, time management, some of my classmate doesn’t follow the
schedule of the work immersion. Fourth, the lack of confidence of the trainees, as a
STEM student on the program I have encountered this kind of problem. Lastly, allotment
of work, as a student, I experienced this problem a lot. Example of this kind of situation
is in schools because of the allotment of projects, assignments and activities.

As a recent trainee at SOFI Work Ed, I have encountered problems like, asking
questions time to time because I am new to the kind of work. Not all people are good at
doing their jobs, so some people are working hard for them not to encounter problems.
To be honest at first I had a hard time understanding some lectures and activities. Due
to the new environment that I will faced I was shy for about 1-3 days of the Work
Immersion. The activities that I had a hard time understanding is the timekeeping,
payroll and soldering. Also, the 3 benefits that have a mathematical formula. In addition,
the tardiness of my classmates due to the transportation from their homes to SOFI.

Resolution

For us not to encounter problems at work we should give our best, show what we
are capable of and be flexible at jobs that we might handle. First, attitude, when it
comes to this word this is quite a big and heavy work that we might hear. For us to be a
great influence to others, we should start with yourself first. Second, behavior, the way
we behave reflects our behavior in school, church and especially the home. Third,
handling our time properly. As the saying “time is gold”. Every second, minutes and
hours counts. If a person fails to do the task he/she is appointed to his/her day is
wasted. Handling the time properly is the best thing to do in life. People can influence
others too. Fourth, we should always be productive. We should always be open and not
shy. In life we will encounter many people and face new environment. For us to face this
we should remember that meeting new people in life are also a great opportunity.
Lastly, for us to finish work in offices and even schools, we should be responsible and
flexible at jobs that is being given.

Not all people are perfect when it comes to doing tasks. Not all are that easy to
understand some formula or problems. So, for us not to encounter different problems
we should start with ourselves first. Being a responsible person is not a hard task to do.
All we need to do is apply all the teachings that we learned from different people. Every
person has a different capabilities. Each one of us has talents that we can show what
we can do or not. But, proving others is not the right thing to do. People should stay
humble and be helpful to others.

Suggestions/ Recommendations

As a graduate of SOFI Work Ed, it was an opportunity for us to be part of the

company. I suggest that some schools that are not part of the SOFI Work Ed should
attend seminars to know the main goal of the company for the upcoming Grade 12
students. Different topics are being discussed for students to apply what have they learn
for the future. This company has a lot of lessons that the students can learn from.
Example of this is filling up forms, know the different kinds of work and practice self for
the desired job for the future.

For the upcoming Grade 12 students, there are 3 strands these are GAS, ABM
and STEM. As a student and taking up STEM strand I recommend the students to be
part of the STEM. It has a lot of activities like QA, HMO and IT. Students can
experience a lot of hands on activities, know the different procedures and processes.
Also, students can apply their learning in the future. I also recommend that students
should listen to the lecturers for them to do the activities that will be given at the end of
the discussion.
Reflection

Work Immersion is a great opportunity for us to experience because we can use

our learnings for us to apply in the future. It was a challenge for us to experience the
flow of job. By the different lessons that is being discussed, activities at the end of the
lectures and evaluate by the higher authorities in a company. I have experienced on
how to handle my time and work balance. Also, on how to be flexible at tasks that is
being given. I was amazed by the company’s greatness to the students. I would like to
say that my experience at SOFI is unforgettable. I’ve learned many things like how to be
flexible in doing my jobs, handling my time and know myself deeply. However, some
schools don’t offer Work Immersion for the upcoming Grade 12 students.
