Options, procedure for Medium power busbar trunking

ordering a made to Canalis KVA (200 to 800 A)

measure component

Options

The degree of protection for standard references is IP 52. To obtain degree IP 54, “A1” should be added at the end of
the standard reference (degree IP 54 can only be obtained by factory assembly).
Similarly, if the trunking is to be mounted outside, “A2” should be added at the end of the standard reference. The
product is supplied as IP 54 with an aluminium cover.

IP 52 + option A1 = IP 54 IP 52 + option A2 = IP 54 + Cover

Definition of a component

Shape
Each shape is characterised by a group of two letters (example : ET for a feed length).

Dimensions
Dimensions are always given in alphabetical order of the measurements (a, b, c, etc).

How to order

The order should be made on two lines :

p First line
Write the reference found in this catalogue.

p Second line
Write the dimensions for the “made to measure” component and any of the options selected :
- If the reference corresponds to a made to measure product, there are one or more variable values : you should
write a x b x etc in alphabetical order.
- If the reference ends in A followed by a number, an option is available (see above).

Straight lengths

There are two types of component :

- “ET” components designed for feeding current along horizontal or vertical runs, available in 0.35 to 2 metre lengths.
- “EV” components designed for rising main distribution with tap-off at joints, available in 2.50 metre to 4 metre lengths.
They are defined according to floor height.

For feeding, a standard joint can be replaced by a special joint known as a junction/tap-off block which can be used as
a tap-off point. To take advantage of this option with “ET” components, there is a space on the order form to show :
- a junction/tap-off block reference (for example KV0-25YA4)
- a single feeder unit reference (for example KV0-25CB71103)

The nominal length “L” of a straight length is measured, from joint axis to joint axis, in millimetres (the joint axis is located
20 mm beyond the end of the bars).

Example :
Joint axis

A KVA straight length, rating 800 A, 3L + N + PE, 1820 mm long, has the following reference :
KVA - 80ET42B
L = 1820

Vertical mounting for rising main distribution

If you use floor height lengths (from 2.50 to 4 metres),

position the 1st joint at around 1.70 metres above the floor.
This operation requires a made to measure component L1.
