ADMISSION NOTIFICATION NO. 02 OF 2019

On-line Application Forms are invited from eligible candidates for admission to below mentioned programmes for the Academic Session
2019-20. The candidates are advised to peruse the Prospectus 2019 (available on the University website) & go through the Admission
Notification thoroughly to check the eligibility criteria/other details before submitting their Online Application Forms. The Syllabus for
Entrance Tests shall be available on University Website www.islamicuniversity.edu.in.
Programme Eligibility
Post Graduate (PG) Programmes:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 45% marks having Mathematics/Statistics/Applied Mathematics
as one of the subjects from a recognized University/Institution.
M.Sc. Statistics
or
B.Sc. Actuarial and Financial Mathematics with 45% marks from a recognized University/Institution.
Bachelor’s Degree with 45% marks from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following:
i. Any relevant subject.
Master of Science in
ii. Science having Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level.
Information Technology
iii. Science having Mathematics /Physics/Computer Science/I.T./ or any relevant Computer related
(M.Sc. IT)
recognized subject as one of the subjects.
Or Four year Bachelors Degree in Engineering & Technology.
B. Tech. Food Technology with 55% marks from a recognized University/Institution and a valid GATE
M .Tech. Food Technology score. (In case candidates with valid GATE score are not available, the University shall conduct its own
Entrance Test).
M.Sc. Chemistry B.Sc. Degree with Chemistry as one of the subject in all the three years of graduation with 45% marks
from a recognized University/Institution.
B.Sc. Degree with Physics and Mathematics as core subjects in all the three years of graduation or
M.Sc. Physics B.E/B. Tech (with Physics and Mathematics as subjects for at least two semesters/one year) with 45%
marks from a recognized University/Institution.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Application (BCA)/Science/ Commerce/Arts or any other equivalent
Master of Computer
degree, with Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or at the graduation level, with 50%
Applications (MCA)
marks from a recognized University/Institution.
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University/ Institution with 50% marks and a valid
MBA
CMAT score. Candidates, who do not possess CMAT score, may also apply. The admission of such
MBA-International Business candidates shall be made on the basis of Institutional MAT conducted by AIMA for IUST.
(IB)
M.A. International Relations Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 45% marks from a recognized University/Institution.

Bachelor’s Degree with 45% marks from a recognized University/Institution with Political Science as one
M. A Political Science (IR)
of the subject throughout the graduation period.
M.A. Journalism & Mass Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 45% marks from a recognized University/Institution.
Communication
M.A. Arabic Language & Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with Arabic as one of the subjects with 45% marks from a recognized
Literature University/Institution.
M.A. Islamic Studies Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 45% marks from a recognized University/Institution.
M.A. English Language & Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with English as one of the subjects with 45% marks from a recognized
Literature University/Institution.
Bachelor’s Degree with Economics/Mathematics/Statistics/Agriculture/Horticulture with 45% marks as
one of the subjects from a recognized University/Institution.
M.A. Economics or
B. Sc in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics/ Four Years Engineering Degree with 45% marks from a
recognized University/Institution.
Under Graduate (UG) Programmes:
10+2 or equivalent qualification through a recognized board / University with subjects Physics,
Basic B.Sc. Nursing Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. The candidate should
have a minimum age of 17 years as on 31-12-2019 and the female candidates must be unmarried.
Lateral Entry Programmes:
B. Tech. Civil Engineering / Electrical Three-year Diploma from a recognized Technical Board or Institution with a minimum of 45%
Engineering / Electronics & marks in aggregate in the branch of Engineering/Technology wherein admission is being sought.
Communication Engineering /
Mechanical Engineering / Computer
Sc. & Engineering / Food
Technology.
Note: ‘The candidates who have appeared/are appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination can also apply. However, they
have to produce required result notification/other documents before the entrance examination. Otherwise they will not be allowed to
appear in the entrance test.”

There shall be 5% relaxation in minimum percentage of marks required for eligibility in case of reserved categories (the list of which
reflected in the University Prospectus), for all programmes.
I) IMPORTANT DATES:
Availability of online application forms 10-07-2019

Last Date for submission of online application forms/ deposition of fee 24-07-2019

Conduct of Entrance Examinations First week of August 2019

II) SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION FORMS:

The candidates are advised to follow the below mentioned steps for filling the details in their On-line Application Forms:
Step-1: Login to University Website www.islamicuniversity.edu.in and follow the link Admissions 2019.
Step-2: Read the instructions carefully and click on “Proceed” tab.
Step-3: Click the Undergraduate/ Postgraduate/ B.Tech. Lateral Entry programmes tab and select the desired Programme(s) &
Preferences (wherever applicable). Enter required details very carefully.
Step-4: Upload latest passport size photograph/Signature, Qualifying Marks Card, Valid Reserved Category Certificate (wherever
applicable). Candidates applying under NRI sponsored quota shall upload undertaking as per the prescribed format given in the
Prospectus 2019 (available online) and certificate from the bank proving the valid NRI account in the name of the sponsor of the
candidate including his/her current valid full address abroad with phone number in addition to the above mentioned
certificates/documents.
NOTE: Photograph/certificates to be uploaded must be in image file format (.jpg, .jpeg, .png) with size of 50-100 KB. Candidates applying
under Sports category can upload multiple sports participation certificates merged in a single file in PDF format.
Step-5: Check all the details and status of uploaded documents once again and then click the “Submit” tab. On the successful submission
of form, an Acknowledgement Message will be generated.
Step-6: Once the form is submitted choose the payment option for deposition of application fee as:
1. Online: Proceed as per the fee instructions on the screen.
2. Offline: Take a printout of the fee receipt and deposit the amount in any branch of J&K Bank Ltd.
Note: Fee is Rs 1000/- for one course and Rs 200/- for each additional course opted.
CANDIDATES ARE NOT REQUIRED TO SUBMIT HARD COPY OF THE APPLICATION FORM.
III) PROCEDURE FOR SELECTION:
a) All programmes (except Basic B.Sc. Nursing, M.Tech. Food Technology and MBA/MBA-IB): Based on the candidates performance
in the Entrance Test and the qualifying examination in the ratio of 60:40.
b) Basic B.Sc. Nursing: Based on the merit obtained in the entrance test conducted by the University.
c) M.Tech. Food Technology: Based on the candidates performance in the GATE and the qualifying examination. However, in case
candidates with valid GATE score are not available, the University shall conduct its own Entrance Test and the selection shall be
based on the candidate’s performance in the Entrance Test and the qualifying examination in the ratio of 60:40.
d) MBA/MBA-IB: Based on the candidates performance in CMAT/Institutional MAT score and Group Discussion/ Personal Interview
(GDPI) in the ration of 60:40.
e) The selection under self financing category shall be based on merit obtained by the candidate in entrance examination and for
NRI sponsored quota based on the merit obtained in the respective qualifying examination only.
IV) IMPORTANT NOTES:
• The soft copy of the Prospectus 2019 can be downloaded from the University website: www.islamicuniversity.edu.in.
• The date(s) for University Entrance Test(s) shall be notified separately.
• The notification for submitting applications for admission against the self-financing seats and NRI sponsored category shall be
issued separately.
• Change of preference(s) shall not be entertained after the last date for submission of online application form.
• The candidates are advised to check the Application Form Status online using the Applicant Number after three days of the
submission of online Application Form.
• The candidature of applicants who fail to submit all the required documents/ fee etc. with the online Application Form shall be
rejected.
• Procedure for making corrections/ uploading of accurate documents in the already submitted application forms is as follows:
➢ Send an e-mail to admissions@islamicuniversity.edu.in and mention the details to be modified.
➢ Attach the document with the e-mail incase the already document needs to be changed.
➢ Take a re-print of the updated application form after three days of sending e-mail for checking the changes and for
future references.
➢ Note: Only e-mails from the registered email ID mentioned in the application form will be entertained.
• Candidates are advised to remain in touch with the University website to download the Admit Cards / Roll Number slips
(wherever applicable) and other updates.
