Area of Reinforcement: 2c Managing Classroom Procedures- You have clearly worked hard with your procedures from the start of
the year. In many ways, your classroom is able to “run itself” because you are explicit in your expectations and routines as students
navigate through the classroom and content. Having these solid expectations in your classroom curbs the need to constantly redirect,
allows you more time to give direct instruction to those who need it, and proficient students are able to work at their pace. I would like
to challenge you and see if you can think of other ways that the children would be able to run the classroom now that the end of the
year is rapidly approaching.
Area of Refinement: 3c. Engaging Students in Learning- I noticed that a few students who were struggling with the content, and
had the differentiated worksheets, knew that they needed to fill in the “E” to complete the task. Therefore, they did not go through the
entire activity correctly unless you intervened. Maybe after a few minutes of having the students work independently, you could have
those strugglers meet with you in a small group to “check in” and see if they need assistance or reinforcement of the expectations.
Thank you for inviting me into your classroom. Your students are eager little sponges, who clearly love to learn. Thank
you for molding these young minds to be ready for first grade!!!
